Anyone in Atlanta?

I am looking for a hotel near the Philips Arena, any suggestions? Is that the good or bad part of town?

I'm not from Atlanta but just got back. The Omni is nearest to the Arena. You can easily walk..just go out the door and you are there. The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Shearaton, and I cant think of the others. The Westin has those Heavenly Beds that are to die for. Get yourself a Starwood Prefered Guest card if you stay there... Ask when you call for ressies how close they are to Philips. Hope this helps. I know we have several people from Atlanta on the boards.

Native from Atlanta. Can't help you with what hotels are within walking distance though. You have gotten some good suggestions already,however, for hotels.

Just wanted to give my two cents: I don't consider any part of Atlanta "safe" - some are certainly better than others but always walk with a group, stay in lit areas, lock your car, keep valuables out of site, and use good judgement. "It ain't Disney".
