We are thinking about hiring a photographer to take family pics for us when we're there in May... we want to use Epcot since its the flower and garden show!

Anyone else done this? Were you pleased with the pictures? Were reorders really expensive? Was your photographer good?

THANKS!

Hi Aimeedyan

:teeth:

For our honeymoon we used one of Disney's photographers. We loved the results. He took us all over MK to take photos (w/ Characters, by the castle, etc.) and he was great. (Alot of ppl don't agree though, some say it's not worth it, maybe you can call and check on the rates now.)

2 weeks later, we received our bounded album via Fed Ex and we loved the photos and the clarity. The photographer's shots were quite creative. They took it w/ a professional digital camera and he showed us the photos right away to see if we like it, if not, we could retake it. Which I thought was cool.

The reorders were a bit pricey though, but we didn't reorder any...just the ones in the album.

I hope this helps! ENJOY!

DD used Disney for her wedding pictures at Wedding Pavillion and CG and they were perfect - the photographer and his assistant were very nice and fit right in with the wedding party! They also had a park sitting at MK and were driven up Main Street before park opening for castle pictures.

She has also used Disney Photographic Services to have castle sittings before park opening for her Concert and Show Choirs when they were there for Magic Music Days.

Costs were competitive for the wedding pictures, only high cost was to have Cindy's coach brought up in front of the castle.

The group pictures for the kids were very reasonable and came out really well - the kids loved the chance to be in the park when it was closed - but it was very, very, very early in the morning.

Gifts of a Lifetime has photo sessions in the parks or wherever you want. Its $225 for 90 minutes and they give you the film. You can develop it your self and keep your negatives to make whatever size pics you want. Here is a link

Thanks for the input so far! I'm glad you were happy with the quality!

I did look into the Gifts of a Lifetime bit, but got the impression they just sorta follow you around and snap pics while you exp the park, as opposed to being a professional photographer setting up and taking portraits... but I may be wrong. We were looking for outdoor portraits... Disney will do a 1 hour unlimited photo session with one of their prof photographers, and they already have great spots they use at each park and such... they give you the proofs when you're done... but I'm unsure what size the proofs are... you know? If they're normal 4x6, ,then its a good deal since that's mostly what we'd order anyways.

Is that the deal with Gifts of a Lifetime? Am I thinking right?

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

When we took our honeymoon photos w/ Disney's photographer (part of their pkg.) it was also one hour, I think it was considered unlimited, at one park we chose. But we didn't get our proofs...hmmm?

Aimeedyan, how did you hear about this? Did they give you a price quote (if you don't mind my asking...)?
Thanx! :wave2:

My moms works at Disney and knew they had photographers... we were quoted $200 for 1 hour, just about any location at the world (park, resort, etc). We were told we'd get all our proofs when they were done... He said he would also do different groups, like, we wanted a big family pic done, but also wanted just some with me and my husband, etc. and he would do any combination during that time. Some photographers will charge extra sitting fees for different combinations, I've found, while looking for alternate photographers in Orlando. So I guess that's a perk.

We're just trying to figure out if we can swing the $200...
