been having back issues for years and was told i needed chiropractic care..hear good and bad things? any feedback would be appreciated..thanks.

I say go for it. I started seeing a chiropractor last year and have had such good results I've started taking DS(7) who has autism. He has been seeing her for the past three months and we've seen great improvement in his sensory issues. His speech therapist wanted to know last week what we were doing because he is focusing and interacting so much better lately at his sessions with her and we've even been able to do a haircut without screaming and fighting!! :cool1:

My parents, who were total non believers in chiropractic a few years ago, are both going on a regular basis now as well. My dad for a bad back and my mom for some pain management issues.

The thing is to make sure you do your research and find a chiropractor who you're comfortable with. Look for one who does a comprehensive exam and can give you a clear treatment plan and timeline. We found ours on a recommendation from our primary care doctor.

For our family chiropractic care has become part of our preventive health care routine.

I love mine. The only "bad" thing I can think of is that at first you have to go alot ( or at least me, my husband and our children did) until you get everything where it should be. We started at once a week and now only go once every 6 weeks. I have not had as aches and pains as I did have, my sinus troubles are soooooo much better, I sleep better and I just plain feel good.

I also had horrible pain in my back for years from carrying my handicap daughter around all the time. I had gone for an MRI and to a specialist they said don't lift your daughter and gave me tylenol with codeine. Not the solution I was looking for. I finally got the courage up to go to a chiropractor and highly recommend it. He took an x-ray and I couldn't believe how out of wack my back was my tail bone wasn't even going the right way anymore. I did have to go 2-3 times a week for the first 3 weeks then tappered off now I just go when I get a twinge of pain. The last time I was there was 8mths ago. The first couple times are a little uncomfortable ,but the freedom of pain is worth it.

I used to go before my spinal fusion. Would love to go again but haven't even asked if he would since back surgery. Chiropractors helped me so much. My daughter goes and my granddaughter has gone since she was a baby. Most MD's think it's hocus pocus but I know it helped me tremendously. I am a nurse not a doctor but I know it did wonders for me.:cool2:

Moved to the disABILITIES Community Board since it is not about WDW

Yes! I have had great success with a chiroprator. Suddenly began having severe neck/back pain with horrible headaches several years ago. I could only lie on the sofa for several days until a friend recommended I give her chiroprator a try. After the first visit I felt like a new woman. After the follow up visits there was no more pain. After my success, DH began going as well. :woohoo:

I go for my sinuses! Amazing that this clears me up with no meds! Love him!
