I am so excited and so nervous! I just signed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada Team in Training to run the Disneyland Tinkerbell Half Marathon in January! I am not a runner-I am not even a walker LOL! What was I thinking? :confused3 Oh right...great cause, benefits of becoming more active and DISNEY!!!

Now I just need to raise a lot of money and train very hard to become ready for January. Wish me luck and pixie dust!

Congratulations! I have run in the past two years, it is such a fun run. I am running the Dopey in January otherwise I'd be there. If you have any questions let me know :)

Thanks piraterunner! If I get there Friday and leave Monday will there be enough time to enjoy the the parks? Do registration and run activities take a lot of time? I am not sure if I want to bring my family and extend my stay. Right now I am planning solo trip (with my team) and am looking forward to doing Disney for me:).

It absolutely gives you enough time. I have left my family behind for the Tink the last two years. I run with my girlfriends from AL and BC, it is an awesome meeting spot for us :) it is a completely different experience without kids. I usually feel guilty for going without them which leads to a WDW trip. This year I went Fri-Mon i hit LAX by 10ish took the shuttle service. Walked from our hotel to collect bibs for my friends (just had to have them sigh a form and provide a copy of their drivers licence) meet them back at the room and headed to the parks. Later in the afternoon we went hit the booths, there aren't that many vendors maybe an hour spent there. We got a 3 day hopper, ran the 5k Saturday 21k Sunday. Gave everything I had to those parks. We were out til midnight every night :) Monday I had an evening flight, so we hit downtown Disney to shop. We had mapped out a game plan of what each of us wanted to do DL is so much more doable than WDW from a getting to and from perspective. I love it!!!!!

Thank you! That is great to hear. Feeling totally guilty about going without my four year old as he has never been and would really like to go. I think a WDW trip later in the year will have to do ;)

I'll be joining you...I had to buy in through and agency. The half sold out so quickly. Getting nervous and starting to think about more serious training. :( Good luck!

Are you planning to wear a costume?

I am so far from reaching my fundraising goal that I do not think I will be able to make it :( I wanted to have half ($2250) by mid October but am far from that. So disappointed but I have always been a terrible fundraiser. Just thought I would be better than this.

Don't give up. Tell everyone you are fundraising. Doctors, dentists, teachers. Reach out to everyone you can think of and keep asking. Good for you for doing this - I missed registration and had to buy in through an agency. Don't give up. ::yes::

My DD is doing a half in November ..and the Dopey in January too...she did the Goofy one last January. Crazy girl!!! She had a blast though..

Good luck!!!! You'll have the best time. :thumbsup2
