We are rather hurriedly in a process for a mortgage. LONG story, but from what I see Ditech is offering the better rate deal.
I have also heard not so good things about Ditech. But I also am considering those telling/warning me about Ditech are other mortgage places that are not offering as good of a rate. So I have to consider the sources.
I went through heck with Coldwell Banker Mortgage. I could tell you some horror stories on how unethical they were for me. But that is another tale.
What I went through with CBM I never imagined. So now I am just twice shy about any mortgage company.
So far Ditech is better in every way.
I do see a $1225 Ditech fee. But with the good rate they are giving, it makes up for the expense when considering no one can come close.

Any Ditech experiences good or bad out in Dis-land?

Don't know anything about Ditech, Luv2Roam, but did want to take a moment and say it is nice to see you . :wave2: Hope all is well, and, I do hope the mortgage thing goes well.

I can say, from experience, that Wells Fargo has been fine for us on my MIL's condo mortgage.

LMK when you visit WDW, Dan.
I would love to meet up with you! :)
The house we bid on is in Winter Garden.

I don't know about Ditech, but my sister has a good experience with a loan officer at Sterling National bank. Let me know if you want his info and I'll send it your way...

I also know nothing about Ditech, but have had fantastic experiences with Countrywide loans. Very prompt and informative, very up front on all costs. I really liked them. Hope you find the answers you are looking for!

Well -- cross my fingers.
Their Ditech horror stories were simliar to what I just went through with Coldwell Banker Mortgage. (Cendant)
They have got to be the worse all around.
One good thing. My last boss -- she and her husband own a mortgage company.
I initially went with CBM thinking since our realtor was with CB, everything would be okay and simplier.
Wrong.... Went from bad to worse. And they worked it like a scam from the front. I had a bad gut feeling from the start and should have listened.
I am awaiting my $250 from CBM that I paid out early January.
So far, knock wood, the Ditech person has been very nice. Even gone over and above. I knew what questions to ask, and from my recent bad experience with CBM I know these are taped and I am glad. Even CBM admitted they were blantently wrong. But that didn't make then stand behind their word.
I am lucky I found out early in the game last month how bad CBM was.
I am even writing a letter to the Florida Department of Financial Service. Like my old boss said, it probably won't do anything, but CBM will get caught up in state paperwork. ;)
My time to return some of the grief they gave us.

We are suppose to get another $250 from CBM at closing, once I fax teh paperwork. But I know how they work now. I will be old and grey before I see that $.
At least with Ditech, I gave a cc #. $500 will not be charged until closing, and will go against closing costs. So no money up front. And I figure any disputes I can handle with VISA.
This is our 4th purchased house in our lifetime, so it isn't like we are new to this. But things sure have changed.

Oh -- and we are scheduled to close March 12. So it should happen fast. (cross fingers)
Luckily I do have a great and experienced CB real estate agent. I know she knows the ins and outs.
