For the past two weeks or so, I have been spending a good portion of each day designing various quilt patterns (drawing them on paper) that I hope to try this winter..
One design I have is a "box" - of which you can see the front, top, and one side.. I want this to appear three dimensional (I think that's the term I'm looking for) and I'm wondering how I can accomplish this with the use of "colors"..
In drawing and shading it on paper, it looks as though I would have to use 3 shades of the same color to get the effect I'm going for - light for the front, medium for the top, and dark for the side..
Does that sound right? And if not, what else can you suggest?
Thanks!
