DH are going for 3 nights next month. Plan is to just relax at SSR , swim, gym, dinner at DTD. I'm starting to wonder if we will get bored after the first day. We always spend a lot of time at the resort, but normally hit a park each morning until lunch and return for dinner. Just wondering how it worked out for others .We will not have a car. We could rent, but with such a short trip I was looking forward to just hopping on ME .

We do something similar .... With over 45 trips we tend to enjoy the resort more... We have AP's so popping into a park for a couple of hours is easy, even a couple of parks in the morning..

Sometimes we'll just do a couple hours in the evening.... Drinks around the pool daily seems to consume most of our time....

Do we feel gypped..... Not at all, we get exactly what we want out of our vacation, even just sitting in the MK is great... No rush!

Thanks pepe. That is how we normally vacation at WDW also. We don't have park tickets for this trip so I wanted to know how it worked for people who have done no parks at all.

The great thing about WDW, is that there is so much to do without going in the parks. Even if you want a bit of Disney Magic, you can go and watch Wishes from the Poly/Grand Floridian/Contemporary Resort. You can visit the Boardwalk for a meal, go the Beaches and Cream for dessert, go the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a meal and see the safari, you can visit DTD to see a movie or some shopping, you can watch a movie at one of the resorts... the options are endless.

We do couple trips all the time. Not every trip to Disney is about the park. I would defently recomend that you get a late dinner at the Poly then wathch the fireworks from the beach. The resorts are great, have fun and enjoy yourself.

DH & I do this all the time! We enjoy the resort, pools, DTD, go to nice restaurants, see La Nouba, rent a boat, take a carriage ride, etc.

Totally worth it!

DH and I did this in January. Three nights at the Swan. The weather was fantastic. We lounged by the pool, walked around the Boardwalk, went to DTD. We did miss the parks. Maybe because we could see Epcot and wished so badly we could stroll around the World Showcase. We did relax and have some fantastic meals including California Grill but I probably would not go again and not at least go into Epcot

This is exactly us. I am leaning towards buying park tickets as DH really likes Epcot and we will be there for the F&G festival.

We do this all the time! Only now it's me, DH and DS. ;)

We live a couple of hours away from the World, so we take weekend trips a few times a year. We play in the pool, visit other resorts and hit Downtown Disney (we usually stay at Port Orleans and love taking the boat over). Those are more relaxing than our "big" trips; we take it easy, but we don't get bored by any means.

We spent one night at POR after a cruise, and didn't have park tickets. We got to the resort around 9am and didn't leave until 4pm the next afternoon so it was essentially two days we were there. On the first day we went to DTD, caught a bus to DHS and took the boat to the Epcot resorts, checked out each of them and walked the Boardwalk, and then went to the Poly for dinner and to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach. The next day we were bored. We did hang out by the pool but were clock watching all day. We weren't interested in just lounging probably because we just got off a cruise. But for three days, I am sure it will be relaxing at least!

Did a 4 day waterpark only trip for Ds's birthday.
We all said never again without park tickets.
All we wanted to do after dinner is just go in and walk around the parks and do our favorite rides.

OP here. We added a night to our reservation and DH asked if we could switch to BWV and do a few days at Epcot. Since this is his 50th birthday trip, that's what we are doing. We will be there for the Flower and Garden festival and now that they added food booths....! I am the Disney park lover so I thought a no park trip would really appeal to him. We will do 2 park days out of 4 . Maybe he is finally coming around ;)

Sounds perfect! :cool1:

I know that personally I would really be missing the parks. I love the resorts but I don't have any desire to go without going into any parks. I don't think I'd spend the money on staying on-site. Just speaking for myself.

We have done this several times, mostly for a couple days following a cruise. Such a great way to wind up our trip! We have also flown in just to get away and really enjoyed just spending time at the resort, AKV, DTD etc.

Hope you enjoy!

We went to SSR a few years for 4 days. We did MK one day but the other days, we laid by the pool, went to DTD, played mini-golf, just did whatever. So relaxing.

Most of last year my husband and i did not have our annual passes to save some money, but I still needed my Disney fix so we spent our time at downtown disney, strolling the resorts, going to jellyrolls, and lounging at whichever hotels we found a good deal at :-/.

We have done it many times! We got a meal plan and spent our days touring the resorts and eating A loT!!!!
