How do you like it? How long have you done it? How long until you saw results?

I am out of shape. So very out of shape. DH is also out of shape. We could both stand to lose around 50lbs. I know, a lot. Anyway, I had some minor surgery 2 weeks ago. We have since decided to start working out. We have been walking in the morning since I am still on restrictions. We are thinking of doing T25 but I don't want to invest that kind of money for something that I won't do.

I have seen the infomercial and it does look intense. But 10 weeks to lose this kind of weight just doesn't seem like that long. Wondering how well it really works and if people really do stick with it.

I am on week 10 of T25!! It is an intense workout and I'm not gonna lie, you will stuggle through a lot of it. But it is doable, there is a 'modifier' personwho shows you how to make it less intense, and it does work!

I started with Insanity and that was VERY hard. It was long, upwards of 40mins, and I felt it was too much for a beginner. T25 is a much better fit for a beginner. And it incorporates weights which my DH likes.

I can PM you my Beach Body trainer's name if you'd like. She is AMAZING! Very motivating! She keeps me on track.

Good luck with what you decide!

I am an advocate of going to physical therapy first to get basic exercises to get you ready to exercise with an intense workout if you are out of shape.

There are very basic exercises you can do to begin strengthening your core first and stretching muscles that you do everyday to prepare yourself so you do not injure yourself.

I injured myself 3 yrs ago with lunges and went downhill from there. It has been hell to get back up to speed.:headache:

We are actually fairly active on weekends doing hiking/walking nature trails (its pretty flat in Florida though) and taking our bikes to the bike trails. It is just during the week we are rather lazy(and trying to change it!). We have been getting up at 4 am and walking 1.75 miles. Takes around 31 minutes to do but I don't want to push it until the doctor gives me the OK. We also plan to start the C25K program when given the all clear from the doctor. DH wishes to run a 5K in the spring.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

That being said there are basic exercises you can start with to strengthen your core and then work up to an intense program.

The key being that you do not want to injure yourself, like I did. All running and C25K are put on hold for me until I can get back to normal. It may take a year. More than likely I will never be able to run.:badpc:

Oh this is important, get yourself some really good shoes from a certified pedorthist (pa-door-thist).

That can really make a difference and I am not kidding with staving off injury and pain.

I go to Brown Shoe. Call some of the higher end shoe places and ask to make an appt. with a pedorthist. New Balance has them on staff as well.

Good Luck!!!:thumbsup2

We have a place called Running Wild that does it. So does Dick's Sports. I am a firm believer in GOOD shoes. I won't buy crap shoes. Even my flip flops have support in them. I have a bad knee so I take care of it.

I am on week 7 of T25. I completed Insanity first and compared to that T25 is a cake walk! There is a modifier in the videos so if you don't feel comfortable doing the exercises you can do the modified versions & work yourself up to it. I love that it's only 25 minutes and I can easily fit it into my day. It flies by. I've toned up a lot especially in my arms and mid-section and my boyfriend has lost 20 pounds. Good luck!

25 minutes a day?? I want to do this! I'm a little confused on how it works. I noticed there are 10 dvds at 2 different levels. So I'm guessing you do one DVD for week 1 and then move on to the next? That doesn't make sense though because some of them concentrate on one part of the body, so surely you don't do a full week of just ab excercises, for example.

Also, what equipment do you need to buy to go along with it like weights, etc.?

There are two phases. Alpha is first and then you do beta. You do a different disk every day and not in the same order each week. Each phase is 5 weeks. So I did cardio yesterday and today was speed. Tomorrow is total body circuit. The Alpha phase uses nothing but your body. From what I have read on a different forum, a band or free weights may be needed for Beta.

I just started this yesterday so am only on day 2. But Shawn T isn't annoying like some of them can be. And the time really does go by fast. I am only doing the modified exercises until I am in better shape. And I plan to do Alpha phase twice before moving on to Beta. I like that the time counts down. For everything. None of that only 5 more but you really do 20 stuff. And it flashes right before the exercise ends and tells you what the next exercise will be. I find it easier to transition from one to the next if I know what is coming up.

I jog and do Zumba/step classes. I ran into a 70 yr old neighbor a couple of weeks ago. He swears by T25!! He was already in good shape, but wow, he looked terrific!!

His wife has been overweight in the 10 yrs I've known them both. She started doing the workouts first thing in the morning and lost 90 lbs. She didn't exercise at all before, so she probably lost weight quicker than many people who are already active.

I'm debating getting it. I'd like to lose some weight.

Good for you! :thumbsup2 Those 1st 2 workouts are the hardest!

Just wanted to let you know-you probably won't want to redo Alpha before starting Beta. He made them to follow eachother and you will be ready for Beta after 5 weeks of Alpha. And besides-after 5 weeks you'll be ready for some new videos!
You will need small free-weights or the band for Beta. I loved Beta-using weights mixes it up and makes it go faster for some reason.

Good for YOU!

I just finished up my 2nd Zumba class today. :yay:

I have a long way to go though. I did too many classes and workouts last week and ticked off my achilles tendon. I am OK now, thank goodness. I do a lot of stretching.
