Hello, My 14 year-old daughter is a HUGE Muse fan and it looks like they are coming to our state in a couple of months. I would like to get some tickets to the concert for her but I'd love to hear from anyone who has seen them live first. I know that they'll be great but I'm wondering what type of crowd they draw. Anyone have some insight?? Can you help a Mama out? :confused3

As with most concerts the crowd will be a mixed bag of adults (young adults as well as older) and teenagers. There will be average looking/dressing people and people who look/dress freaky, just like at other concerts. There is no reason to assume it would be different than any other live show. A 14 year old is mature enough for you to discuss with the types of things that may be observed at a concert (drugs, alcohol, sexual behavior).

Muse sounds great live. They are fairly tame on the stage these days. Have fun.

DH just scored us some upcoming Muse tickets, so I can speak to them bringing in the "early thirty professionals" crowd. I have heard they are extremely loud (even by normal concert standards).

That helps a bit. I think I'll need some good ear plugs to help me make it through a louder show. My concert experiences are limited to American Idol these days. I really like Muse but they are more intense in their music stylings then my 80s era ears are used to. Howard Jones was just not that raucous. :rotfl2:
Thank you for your comments and I am eager to hear from anyone else who might have some insight!

well I saw them both 4 years ago and this past year...previously it was mostly a crowd in their 20s who liked indie music...now you're probably gonna have more tweens/teens with their parents because their songs have been used for the Twilight movies...it's not gonna be a scary crowd at all...even "back in the day" before the teens "discovered" them. They are amazing live...very big, very grand...hope you have a great time!

Thank you! That helps. My daughter is quiet appalled by all the twilight fans jumping on the Muse band wagon, music snob that she is. I told her to be happy for the band because it only helps their career!

I don't know anything about their music but last September they performed in their home town in Devon, United Kingdom. My Father was on the planning commitee that gave the concert the go ahead. The concert went off without a hitch, there were no complaints about noise even though it took place very near a residential area and ther were no problems with the fans. The event was a resounding sucess for the town. Hope this helps.

They were pretty good when they opened for U2 last year. Hopefully if they're headlining, the sound will be set up better for them. I would guess a 20-ish crowd for them. But I'm much older and like them. Only after seeing them live as I don't watch sparkly vampires.

I saw them a couple of years ago. They were the opening act for My Chemical Romance. They put on a good show. The crowd is a typical teenage crowd. Everybody was into the music. The crowd wasn't rowdy or out of control. I felt safe and I'm an old fart(in my 30's) compared to most Muse fans. My son was twelve at the time. There was nothing offensive about their show. I wouldn't worry.

actually not really, while they've only recently become HUGE over here...they've been selling out stadiums in the UK and the rest of the world for several years now...I'd actually prefer that all the Twilight fans stop pretending to like them and move on...:guilty:

I have loved Muse since I saw them open in April 2007 for My Chemical Romance. They are my favorite band (Taylor Swift, my favorite singer) and they were AMAZING live. My moms friend at work said he saw them with U2 and that they were better than U2.

They put on amazing performances and the show is just all-together awesome.

I saw them too! 2007? :)

My daughter would agree with you on that last point too.

Thank you everybody! I feel a lot better about taking her. I think it will be a great show. They have Silversun Pickups opening for them. I have never heard of them but I shall be optimistic!

:dance3:
