This morning I didn't have time for breakfast so I got an apple turnover at the station. I started to eat it at work and it tasted awful, bitter and metallic. I wasn't sure if it was the turnover or the coffee, but I had this awful taste in my mouth.
This lasted almost the whole day, I tried to eat stuff to take the taste away but it didn't work. :confused3
When I googled it I found that it can happen when you eat some types of pine nuts. You get the symptoms after a couple of days and it can last for 1 to 2 weeks :scared1:

I had some pine nuts this weekend so that is probably the cause but it's really wierd. This was the first time I'd heard of it, has anyone any experience with anything like this?

Nope never heard of it either. :confused3

Nor me. The only time I had a metallic taste in my mouth it turned out I was pregnant ;)

No I've never heard of it either?
Same as the other's only ever heard of a funny taste in mouth being related to pregnancy ;)

I can assure you ladies that I am not pregnant!

Luckily it's got a lot better today, but I had it when drinking fruit juice this afternoon. It's not really like an allergy it just seems that some pine nuts have more of a certain substance in them and that plays havoc with your taste buds, by overruling them with the bitter taste.

But I will be avoiding pine nuts for a while just in case.
