Hi

I would be most grateful if anyone could tell me if they have heard of a company called "Intenta". There is very little about them on the internet and they do not have their own website. They approached us by telephone a few weeks ago and want us to go to one of their two-hour long presentations (you know the sort of thing!!!!!!!). They market themselves as some sort of sales promotion company and not as a timeshare company.

I wouldn't normally approach this sort of company with a barge-pole, but they say we can use their vouchers for car hire through a travel agent (I asked them if they could do that instead of us using the vouchers for a holiday because that's all we need to do at the moment).

Basically, I just need to know if anyone has heard of Intenta before? Many thanks.

There is a company based near me with this name - could it be the same one?

The address on Intenta's headed paper is West Bridgewater Street, Leigh, Lancashire WN7 4HB. That is probably their headquarters address and they might have other addresses around the place. I have tried 'phoning different departments of First Choice and going into one of their branches and nobody I spoke to have heard of this company or know anything about vouchers of the type this company are offering.

I will update this thread with further developments. Watch this space!!

Hi Zoe!:D Just passing and saw your post! Keep doing the breathing exercises!;)

Not Intenta but
There was a co called Intasun up in Scotland who did the cold call thing like you said, got you along for a presentation and then it was a hard sell for a "vacation club" You paid £2000 ish up front and could access the Interval International properties.
Needless to say it was a scam. They keep closing down and reopening under a new name.
STV did a documentary on this and other companies all over the UK.
Watch yourself, they may be legit but you never know.

Be careful that the car is not like one of the "free" ones you get with your travel agent that you have to add all the insurance premiums to.

If it is fully inclusive of all the insurance then it might be worth it if you can sit through a 2 hour hard sell presentation. If it is not and you have to pay for the insurance then I would steer clear.

Good Luck

.....and as Mike said - don't forget the breathing exercises ;)

... as I said to Mike (on another board), slowly breathing in ..... and ..... slowly breathing out ..... and ..... slowly breathing in ..... and slowly breathing out ..... and ..... slowly breathing in ...

No, it's not working! Still too hyper!!
