Anyone heard how Shirley made out?

Talking to Shirley, now. She's exhausted and worn out. Her sister had alot of damage to her house. Of course, she's more concerned for the people around, than herself!

She sounded very overwhelmed.

Keeping a lovely lady in my prayers.

Ursula

Glad to hear she's doing well. Sent her an e-ml last night & left her a mess. on her cell today & hadn't heard so we were concerned. Shirley & Norm, stay safe!:D

I was wondering about her also. Poor thing - hang in there Shirley and I hope you can get your sister back together soon!!!!

Shirley & Norm,

Thinking and praying for you guys.

Hello World,
It's so good to feel connected to the world again - Norm and I were super blessed with Jeanne - damage was small - shingles off the roof which created a few leaks, but we consider that nothing compared to the damages we have seen in Brevard County - we have POWER after being out only 2 days - the shop was the only strip mall that had power on A1A - I had written "In God's Hands" all across the boarding and He did take care of all of us - unfortunalty Ed that owns the bike shop and just recovering from a heart attack, was broken into from the back and lost almost all his bikes - it was very sad - Norm and I went to my sister in Melbourne to help with all their damages - it was super hard to see that had been done, but she has such a deep faith that I know everything will be fine for her and my niece Maria who also received quite a bit of damage - some of the things that I found during the hurricane -most of the people are so kind, considered, and offering a hand of help everywhere they went, Millie, my 87 year old neighbor that I sent to a shelter during Francis, met a gentleman that is 88 yrs old and they have started "keeping company" - Millie lost her husband and her only son and was very lonely and I was very concern with her welfare - well now she has Harry - to know Millie has been one of the heartwarming adventure - her wit, her courage, her faith is unshakable - she sets one heck of an example for anyone that meets up with her - she mentioned her and Harry were going into their relationship "slow" and as I told her why? Her answer well being I am going to live to 100, so we have plenty of time :teeth:
one of the saddest things I saw were pets that had either gotten away or left behind and had run into the main road and were killed - there were very few homes, condos, business that weren't touch in some way - the saddest of so much lossage is very real - everyone those lives have been touched by all the hurricanes here, well its very sad, but we are strong and we will come out of this all - We have to be the victors and not the victim.
anyhow God's blessing to all - don't know when I will be back, but we will be back tomorrow - life as usual.
Much love always
Shirley

Something out of Charles Dickens

It was the best of times:

Millie, my 87 year old neighbor that I sent to a shelter during Francis, met a gentleman that is 88 yrs old and they have started "keeping company

It was the worst of times:

Ed that owns the bike shop and just recovering from a heart attack, was broken into from the back and lost almost all his bikes -

Shriley....so thankful you are safe!! My prayers are with you all as you manage the clean-up.

Talk with you soon,
Theresa

To hear you and norm and ok.. I was really praying for you, as well as everyone in dangers way. Being stuck in Orlando for most of Saturday, and that was way before the storm really came in, We think we have an inkling of how it is. Of course we really do not know, but pray for everyone several times a day.

By the way Shirley, if you are reading this, on our way to our hotel in Cocoa beach on Sept 16,th, we passed your shop, and if I would have had a rental car, instead of tranportaion, I would have loved to stop and meet you.

The kids loved the baskets, the delight in their eyes at seeing them on the beds was priceless. By the way the big kid (hubby) was just as pleased with his coronas!!!!:)

Hopefully we will get to meet.

Sherrie

Shirley & Norm

I am so glad to hear you have come through Jeanne. I was thinking about you a lot while watching Jeanne hit on the weather channel.

Shirley,
I'm so gald that you and Norm came through this so well. You and yours are still in my prayers. :D

Shirley,
So glad to hear you and Norm are ok. So sad about the people who lost so much (and the poor animals too). My uncle lives in Sebastian and I still have not been able to get through to him (Sat was the last time I spoke with him). You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
