We are going to WDW in September and I was going to do the $1 trial with Connections for the vouchers. Has anyone tried to cancel recently with any trouble?

I have canceled just before our trip, about 2 weeks after I signed up. The person I spoke with tried to talk me out of canceling in a pretty persistent way, for about 2-3 minutes. BUT, I was prepared for any trouble and I was also very firm in my wishes. Finally he gave up and said OK. Now I have to watch my credit card for amonth or two to make sure that the charges do not appear there.

We had no problems whatsoever. We signed up online, got our number, ordered the vouchers. The vouches came quickly, and then we called them to cancel.

We called around 6pm eastern. DH just said he wanted to cancel, and no upsell or persistence. The order taker just said ok, and he cancelled it. The next day our account was not accesible via web. And we were never charged any other charges.

Here's an idea. If you are concerned about being double charged or billed after you cancel...purchase a webcertificate at webcertificate.com (this is a reputable company I use them all the time). You add the amount you want to the account and they issue you a mastercard number. Keep just enough in there to pay for the vouchers and then if they try to bill you, they won't be able to.

I did this with my paypal account virtual mastercard, but if you don't use paypal, this would be a great option for those who are hesitant.

The only problem I have is getting an English speaking person when I call. I was unable to order vouchers online and had to call.........a nightmare. Waited a few days and was able to order online. That's the way to do it.

I too am planning to cancel the membership before it is due to be put on my cc....
we plan on canceling it, and then in a few days attempting to use it, to see if it was really cancelled or if it is still active... if still active, we will call back...
also, when ever you call in, they always give you their id # and name... be sure to keep track of who you talk to when canceling!
and of course, be sure to ck your cc bill to be safe!

I have read many times on this forum to avoid problems your best bet is to do your transactions online rather than with a human connections employee over the phone. Sad, but apparently true!

I just joined yesterday through Lillian Vernon and they are offering a $20 "dining rebate" and 2 free movie tickets for trying the Connections program. The 30 day trial is free and it's $8.50/mo. if you don't cancel. I'm going to wait three business days then call connections for my member # so I can access the product page of their website and place my order. The last time I joined, by the time I rec'd my welcome package w/ member info. in the mail my 30-day trial was almost up!
