anyone have verizon cell phone

just wondering if anyone was able to use there verizon cell phone on the eastern cruise..

Our Verizon phone worked while in port at St. Thomas.

Do not have Verizon but my Alltel worked at several ports on our Eastern last year. DH's worked as well. He had to take a few business calls.

Verizon works in St. Thomas, but can be VERY expensive. We have nationwide long distance and from the maps on their brochure it appeared that included St. Thomas. We made 3 short calls home on Christmas day and the charges were over $70. Just be aware and check with the carrier before you go as to what the charges will be.

Ours worked on St. Thomas also. We made 2 calls, have nationwide long distance and never had to pay extra. The phone worked great though. Much easier than trying to call home using a pay phone.

I have verizon and it also worked on Trunk Bay in St. John. I don't think it was that much more on my bill.
