Anyone have their power wheelchair or scooter stolen at the theme parks?

And don't forget the wildlife helping themselves to the contents left in strollers and ECVs while the humans are elsewhere. The squirrels are particularly crafty and are able to open and *close* many kinds of containers - I've watched them do it. You may not even realize they have been "exploring" your things as they don't necessarily disturb much.

(as an aside if you are ever taking a break at WDW, the animal life is rather fascinating to watch....)

One of the best entertainments at the parks! LOL

Actually, tiles are usable at very large distances thanks to its vast network of people who use them and have the help others find their tiles.
Believe me, I really wanted Tile to be a good system. I tested the community find feature back in 2017 by sticking a tile chip to the bottom of a chair in the food court of a busy mall, Greatlakes Crossing, in Michigan. It took nearly a week to get a notification that someone's phone had discovered my hidden Tile. Figuring that maybe the community feature had gotten better, I tried again in 2019 at WDW Magic Kingdom. It was better, but it still took almost a full day in the park before a notification came through. Then another 2 days before it was seen again. For the community find feature to work people with the Tile App must allow the app to run in the background with full access to the phone's location services. It's horrible on the phone's battery and it makes a lot of the user's personal data available to Tile inc. to use, more or less as they see fit.

But even if it got you the location of your Tile within an hour or two, that's an hour or two head start. On several occasions, CMs have move my friends wheels and it's gratifying to get that information in real-time. If it had been someone attempting to steel her chair, getting that alert would have given us ample time to let a CM know and prevent the chair from being taken out of the park. Any anti-theft scheme that does not alert you to a theft attempt the moment it happens isn't worth bothering with. And if someone is just going through your stuff, looking for goodies to steal, a Tile chip will do even less. For about the same price, a cellphone based system lets us know if anyone's touching her chair, takes pictures of them and records audio; the sort of thing that would make good evidence.

That said, as Lanejudy said, it's mostly a non-issue. I've gone from hyper-protective of my friends mobility tech to really just blasé about it. In the years we've been hitting the parks now, hundreds of days in the parks, and a chair worth about what a used Cadillac costs, we've had zero issues with theft.

We took a small child to Epcot and left his beloved Braves cap in the stroller only to find some jerk swiped it. More painful to the child than the amount of money the thief was able to get. People will steal anything, even at Disney.
