We're thinking of taking a family vacation to Canada this summer, with Toronto as the primary destination. Does anyone have any tips on fun things to do, especially for kids?

There's lots to do in Toronto! Take in a show; visit the CN Tower, catch a baseball game, take the ferry over to Centre Island and ride the rides - if you're coming in August, the Canadian National Exhibition will be up and running near the end August. Playdium is also located downtown the kids might like that and there are lots of restaurants and the Eaton Centre is a huge shopping mall in the downtown core.

I would recommend the Westin Harbor Castle. Ask for a water view. Check out the Sky Dome and the Blue Jays while you are there. There is a Hard Rock Cafe at the Sky Dome as well if you like that sort of place. We did enjoy the ferry ride. We were there in April one year and flew kites in the park along the river. We also went to an IMax theater. I would definatley go back.

Don't forget the Science Museum. They have a cool Van der Graaf Generator that the kids can touch! A real hair raising experience.
Have fun! OOH, I second the Harbour Castle, too. Stayed there on our Honeymoon and several times since. Very nice and never had a bad experience.

Have fun!

I really enjoyed the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) when I vacationed in Toronto. If you are a hockey fan don't miss the Hockey Hall of Fame. It is a very nice place to visit!

Hello my Friend,

Toronto is a very cool city!

SSB has been the past two Septembers for the Toronto International Film Festival ... and plan to go every year from now on.

Lots of great info above! Have fun, if you do go! :)

If you like beer I think you can tour parts of the Molson brewery. Even if you can't, I recommend you drink some Brador--if you are a beer drinker that is. ;)

I love Toronto, we usually stay at Westin Harbour Castle.

Take the tour of the harbor by boat, the dinner cruise is fun, too.

Go SHOPPING. They have wonderful shops in Toronto.

We love eating Greek food at Ella's on Danforth, too :)

The last time I was in Toronto (October), The Lion King was playing on Broadway.

What part of the suumer are you planning on travelling?
There is Canada's Wonderland (amusement park) just north of Toronto
A day trip to Niagara Falls would also be good
Posting this on the Canadioan Visitors would also give you more usseful information
