I keep hearing about the Castle being made into a cake for the 25th anniversary and how awful it was. I would really like to see this. Anyone have a pic they can post?

I posted this on the "favorite pictures at WDW" thread not too long ago...
Needless to say, this was not one of the castle's finest moments!!

Yuk! I still recall the disappointment when we saw it....! :sad2: :sad2:

My very first trip to the World was that year - I was surprised when I saw the castle, and not sure I realized that it should be different.

It was interesting, but not great, i'm glad the haven't redone it for this year's celebration.

I must be in the minority here but I thought the cake castle was pretty cute! But we have been there so many times, I thought it was a nice change, I wouldn't want it to be like that permanently, but I liked it!

It looked like Barbie hopped the fence and made it her new "Barbie's Dream Castle"

Thanks for posting this as I'd read many comments about the 25th celebration cake but had never seen.

Different than what I thought -- and although I prefer what they're doing for the DL 50th celebration much better (and regular castle better too), I kinda' like this one.

At least from the photos, the castle looks like the CandyLand castle. Certainly memorable, and I do love the castle, all partied up or just itself.

I was there for the 25th and the castle was so pretty as a cake. I don't have one to send but u can probably look it up. It was very colorful!!

I remember hearing at the time they had a painting of the old castle to put up to block the view of the new castle on request for pictures from the Wedding Pavilion!

I also was in the minority, but I liked it too!

I am now thinking I am going to make a collage of the different Castle pics I have, including the new "mirror" castle and the "cake" castle.

Well, I too must admit I liked it. I think it's because I saw it through a child's eyes then instead of a cynical adult's. But if they did it now, perhaps I'd feel differently... :confused3

It wasn't my favorite, but I guess it was a nice change for a while.

I liked it. My youngest DD thought it was a real cake. I think what they are doing to the castle now is nicer though.

That was our first year to visit WDW and my 2 little girls thought the castle cake was da bomb...they wanted to eat it! I guess that's all that matters to me...I'm looking forward to seeing the new gold castle...

That is too funny! It does look just like the Candy Land castle!!! So glad they didn't do that this time! Can't wait to see the castle. I don't even really remember the only time I've been there, back in 1992.
