In April we lost our full size Shih Tzu, Rocky, after 14 years. We are looking to get another one within a few months, and my DW is interested in the Imperial Shih Tzu, a smaller version but not a teacup Shih Tzu.
I have read some information that said the Imperials can sometimes have health issues due to the smaller size. I called our vet, who said that they do not see a significant issue with the breed, but of course each pet, like each person, can have it's own problems.
I have spoken with the breeder and she is VERY cautious about her babies--so I don't think that this is a puppy farm by any means.
Does any have or have you had an Imperial and want to share any experience that you may have had?
