What did you do for cake? Did you have on or just skip it?

I suppose I have options though I'm driving over so I'll have transportation.

Hello, I just visited in November with my cousin and her family, her son celebrated his 7th Birthday at Disneyland. Of course you can go all out and look into celebrating the birthday at the restaurant they have there, can't remember what it's called - maybe the Carnation Cafe? Anyway they go all out for birthdays there so maybe someone that's more familiar can post info.

But if you are on a budget or want something simple, head on over to the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland. Inside they sell a HUGE piece of chocolate cake for about $5.00 to $6.00. It's chocolate cake with thick chocolate frosting on the outside and in the layers, chocolate flakes on the outside. The piece is thick and is about a foot long. That's what we did, we even brought a number 7 birthday candle along with us for a small birthday ceremony. And I really don't like cake, but this one is not gross, it's actually ok.

We recently returned from DL and my son celebrated his 9th birthday whilst we were there. His favourite character is Stitch, so went to the Lilo and Stitch character meal at the Paradise Pier hotel. (Daisy, Minnie, Goofy and Max were also in attendance).

The day before, I had visited the restuarant and ordered a 'Celebration' pop up card (about $5 I think), a goodie bag (crayons, colouring book, etc), plus a Mickey bucket (contained a few collectables such as a small stuffed Mickey, magnets, badge, etc) and it also contained a small birthday cake ($22). All these things were sitting on the table when we arrived at the restaurant. The cake was about the size of a giant cupcake. I can't tell you what it tasted like as we never got round to eating to it, but it looked really nice. (We brought it all the way home here to Australia with us a few days later but it got so squashed we ended up throwing it away).

The waiters also sang 'happy birthday'.

Later that day we went to the Pat-E-Cake birthday celebration at the Plaza Inn. $16pp, book in advance. It's run at certain times of the day. Each person in attendance received a cardboard party hat with mouse ears, a drink of lemonade in a sipper cup, and giant cupcake to decorate with sprinkles and icing.

Pat-E-Cake comes out and interacts with everyone and is quite funny. Towards the end Mickey and Minnie arrive and there is a chance for each family to have their photo taken under a sign that says "My Disneyland Birthday". It lasts for about 30-45 minutes and felt quite rushed at times, but was still a lot of fun.

We also made sure DS received his birthday badge and we had also purchased the mouse ears hat that says 'It's My Birthday' at WDW a few weeks earlier for my birthday, so he wore those too. I'm 99.9% sure they are also available at DL. A lot of people wished him a happy birthday when they saw the ears and/or badge, and I'm pretty sure wearing them helped in our family getting to ride in the front of the monorail on that day. :)

When we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in September we were able to order a custom cake for DS8. I called the reservation # then they contacted me with celebrations. They made a wonder***l cake vanilla with fresh strawberries and a chocolate mickey on top!! I think it was around $30

We went to the picnic area outside the entrance of DL and had pizza and cake...he enjoyed it! Let me know if you want a pic!

We have "ingredient issues", and with most of the treats at DLR, they either have ingredients that can't be eaten OR it's impossible to get the ingredients (treasure cake...they made it seem as though we were asking for state secrets with that one...and the fancy made to order cakes...I tried THREE times to get someone to call me about those, and I couldn't get people to call me to save my life).

So we've gone to Haagen Dasz for a nice simple (their fancier flavors have the offensive ingredients, but their simple stuff doesn't, and they have an ingredient book *right* under the cash register) scoop of ice cream.

We've been there two times for DS's b'day. First time he did have a scoop of vanilla given him at Blue Bayou (he refused all other food there) and seemed fine, but it just wasn't worth the risk (with nestle and dryers being the DL brands, and knowing their usual ingredients) so we did HD and it was sooooooo much better.

Plus they sell Peets espresso. ;)

We just got back from DD's 10th bday trip. :) (I think I need to update her age in my sig, I'm in denial that she's 10 now LOL) We ate lunch at BB and they brought her a chocolate mousse for free. :) Later that day we went to Plaza Inn for dinner and to watch the fireworks, they had the Princess treasure chest there and we got one of those. She picked "vanilla" (white) cake, it was just OK, nothing amazing but good enough to eat. They also have cupcakes everywhere and all kinds of other treats to chose from.
