hi
Have just got a letter from the school and the teacher and head teacher will be coming for a home visit which I thought was odd, They say its to get to know the child however I think it to make sure we live in the catchment area.
DD will miss the induction visits as we will be at DLP.
I have just realised how soon it is to when my dd starts school and I feel a little sad however I am also so excited about it for her.
I think though I will be crying on her first day
she has been at nursery since she was 18months old however it feels like I will be sending her of in to the big bad world.
I think I am worried as I was such a sensitive child however it is easy to forget that my dd is so different from how I was as she is very confident.

The reason they do the home visit is because they feel children feel more confident on their own territory. They usually bring a couple of toys and some colouring things for your child to play with, to try and make them feel more comfortable with them for when they actually start school. When my eldest DD started school 10 years ago hers was the only school in our area that did it, now they all are so it must be working.

They grow so quickly.
