I can't think of anything good. I'm supposed to get her in about a week and a half. She is a yorkiepoo but looks more like a yorkie than a poo.

I want something that is kind of unusal, I don't really like typical dog names like "fluffy" or "rover" (not that there's anything wrong with that, I just want something different)

Any ideas? :confused3

Oh and I don't want anything that starts with a "B" because I don't want to confuse her and Bogart.

Well, I don't have any great suggestions, but here are some of the names our dogs have had over the years:

Max
Brandy
Charlie
Scout (I love this name for a dog :teeth: )
Sunny

DH's dog's were named Sissy and Tory and he had a cat named Pasha.

I've always wanted to name a dog "Daisy" but dd hates it. Once she moves out, I'm going to get a dog named Daisy. :teeth:

Congratulations on your new puppy!

Congrats on the new puppy!

If I were to get a new dog, I'd have the name be something related to the Red Sox or to Jimmy Buffett - 2 of my favorite things. I'm not sure what you're into though. How about a Disney name? Tink, Purdy, Cruella (LOL), Lady.

We had a cat named Vern - he was really chunky. I thought that was the greatest name (remember Vern from Stand By Me? Jerry O'Connell? He's not so pudgy anymore).

We also had Charlie, Tess, Shannon, Bridget. A neighbor had one named Tica which was thought was cute.

Veterinary Pet Insurance did a survey of the most popular pet names - so you may want to avoid these if you want something uncommon:

MOLLY
MAGGIE
DAISY
LUCY
SADIE
GINGER
CHLOE
BAILEY
SOPHIE
ZOE
PRINCESS
BELLA
ANGEL
LADY
SASHA
ABBY
ROXY
MISSY
BRANDY
COCO
ANNIE
KATIE
SAMANTHA
CASEY
GRACIE
ROSIE
MISTY
EMMA
SANDY
HEIDI

It's funny looking at this list - I just got a puppy in March and named her Annie (after considering the name Sandy), and my best friend got a puppy around the same time and named her Zoe. Neither of us knew how popular they were!

I like to pick names from my favorite movies, books, and tv shows. My cat is Vern after Vern Yip from Trading Spaces. Annie is named after the musical/movie - my favorite when I was a little girl. Another option is to look at foreign names/words. My friend's cat is Neko (Japanese for cat) and DH's cat is Seamus because he loves Irish/Scottish culture and names.

I am not good at naming animals (or kids for that matter). Gorwing up we ahd a cat named B.K. (Big Kitty).

What color is your "New Yorkie Poo?" I have a friend who named their gray cat, Squirrel. Maybe something relating to New York? Yorkshire Pudding?

Told you I was bad at this.

My husband had a dog when he was little, his name was Sniffer. No idea why, but I think it's the cutest name.
My cousin has a toy poodle, his name is Tubbers. Love that name too.

Why do I sense a drive by posting by RICK

Ash, name your puppy Piglet, nickname it Piggy. It really whacks out the neighbors when you call it :teeth:

No "B"'s - then Bacall is out? (you know, Bogie and Bacall?)

What about Humphrey?

I always wanted to name a dog Daisy, or just plan Puppy.

You could call her Poquita ("little bit" in Spanish) - call her Pokey or Quita for short. :)

We just got an American Eskimo - it had to have a Disney related name in some way, shape, or form.

My DD3 chose "Figment"

You know, I like the Yorkshire angle now that mickeyboat brought it up. Do a search for towns in Yorkshire--there are some interesting names. DH would want Richmond--which is his hometown in Yorkshire. Too bad you don't want a B name--the Brontes lived in Yorkshire.

You kept saying "she" so for girl puppy names I have always liked Chloe and Sasha, but I see those are also both on the above list. If that bothers you, then I like "Scrappy" for a yorkie b/c they look so messy (in a good way), or you could do a play on how small she is like "Cappy" for Capodimonte (the porcelein company), or "Tiger Lily" if you want to go Disney. I think it would be cute to call something that small and cudly "Tiger." My final option would be "Stella" so that you sounded like Marlon Brando in Cat on a Hot Tin roof when you call for her "STELLLL-AAAAA!"

GaCat:

I think Brando yelled "STELLLLAAA" in A Streetcar Named Desire. Paul Newman was in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Liz Taylor. :)

How about
Yoohoo
Keiki (kid in Hawaiian)
Brit
Havoc
Bingo

I actually really like Stella. I sort of like Piggy too, Lol. I like the idea of a Hawaiian name but nothing seems to fit so far. And Humphrey is Bogart's first name, plus she's a girl. ;)

We named our little black & tan pom Gizmoe (the kids named him). The other evening I'm out walking Gizmoe when the neighbors littlle dog comes running up barking and growling. Of course I'm trying to hold on to my little killer and the neighbor's daughter is yelling Gizmoe. At first I'm wondering why she's yelling at my dog. So I ask her what her dog's name is and it's Gizmoe! We live in a sort of rural neighborhood. You have to have at least 3 acres some of the neighbors have horses etc. Anyway my family thought it was kind of funny that we both have dogs named Gizmoe.

I just came back after looking through a book my mom had of Unforgettable Women on the 20th Century, and I was going to name her Sophia Loren, and then I see that Sophie is on the most popular girls names list. Hmph.Maybe I should think about Simone some more.

My friend has a female dog named "Glory". She is a cute dog and the name is not cutesy wootsy or a typical doggie name.

I have had dogs named Oscar, Trudy, Buster, and Yellow Dog (very original, I know). I have also had Daisy, Max, Susie. I have also had Cleo.

Instead of Stella - how about Bella? Rolls easily off the tongue and sounds pretty.

Please le tus know what you name her. Is that photo her in your sig?
