hi everyone! i live in a very small town in southern IL. i just started couponing. i LOVE it and have started a decent stock pile of things. our local walmart has been Awesome...we can price match from any store...also we can use coupons up to 6 months expired!! just wondering if anyone has a coupon stash that they might be throwing away?? if so send them this way....im happy to pay you back the shipping cost! PM if interested thanks!!!

Don't have any expired coupons because I always toss them when I noticed that they have expired. I will ask my local Walmart what their policy is regarding expired coupons. Thanks for the heads up and good luck collecting coupons!

Your Walmart is doing something not normally accepted. I for one would not want to be part of that scheme.

I'm surprised, too. The coupon processing companies won't reimburse stores for expired coupons, or pay them the eight cent or whatever handling fee. It's really unusual that one store in a chain would voluntarily reduce revenue like this.

I work in retail, and most coupon clearing houses give you about a grace period of three months past expiration date...so the manufacturer must be paying.
It is like the military commissarys...they accept expired too.

No, stateside Commissaries do NOT accept expired coupons, the ones overseas does. If you don't want to throw them out, you can send them to Coups for Troops or you can contact them and they will connect you to a family overseas directly to send them to.

I use mine at our Commissary and what I don't use or whatever has expired, I send to 2 ladies I have met that can use them, they are in Japan. There are several other countries on the list as well.

The Commissaries and grocery stores overseas are so much more expensive than here in the states, so any you would be willing to send are greatly appreciated, they even have tables in the stores where the men or women can leave what they don't use for other families to go through and use what they can and they even have coupons swap groups to pass on what is sent to them.

Above is the link to Coups for Troops, they have places all over the US where they collect them, there is alos info on how to be directly connected to Military families.

Thanks, PrincessSuzanne. That's a great suggestion for what to to with coupons

You're welcome. Anytime I have the opportunity to pass along this info, I do. These Military famlies live on such little income, they need all the help they can get.
