ANyone have any inside info on POLY studio?

The official announcement does not mention a washer/dryer:

The new resort also includes 360 Deluxe Studio Villas, the largest at the Walt Disney World Resort. These villas sleep up to five guests each and feature a kitchenette, enhanced storage space for convenience and comfort, and two separate bathroom areas, one a full bathroom with a tub/shower and another one with a shower and sink. A pull-down armoire bed showcases painted artwork from the popular Disney film, Lilo & Stitch.

poly will only be studios with NO washer/dryer or full kitchen, and 2 bedroom units that sleep up to 8.

If you need a washer and dryer you need a 1 bedroom villa or larger
Unfortunately there won't be any 1BRs at the Poly DVC. I would love to stay in one of the 2BR bungalows some time but I'm sure they will cost way more points than I'm willing to spend, especially for just DH and I.

apparently what i got in a previous thread was not official info but it came from something called a "tikiman"
:rotfl: That would be Tikiman aka Steve and you can take the Studio floor plan to the bank -- his sources are solid.
the 2 bedrooms sound nice but $$$$$$$$$$
Point "prices" haven't been announced yet.

DVC hasn't stated there "won't be any" -- on the contrary they've stated this is just the first phase, leaving it open as to whether there will be a subsequent phase with 1 bdrms. That said, I think most demand for purchasing will come from Poly hotel die-hards, for whom a Studio is a step up from a hotel room, so Studios should address most of that demand.

There should be a laundry room in the building for the studios to use.

barely!

Based on the drawings of the Moorea Longhouse, it looks there will be a laundry room on the first floor and it appears there will be at least four washers and probably double that number in dryers (although that really is a rough estimate, just counting boxes on the drawing). I expect each longhouse will have a laundry.

Regarding phases--DVC resorts are released in phases. For the PVB Phase 1 represents two bungalows, where phase 11 represents four studios. There are 30 phases released with the initial declaration for PVB. A phase represents a unit of villas which vary in size.

Does anyone know if the studios will have a king sized bed?
I know the other studios have queen sized beds - except OKW which have two doubles - I think?

Would like to stay at the Poly {have never stayed there!} - but I really need a king bed!!

I read somewhere that the poly studios would have a king bed. Not sure if that was gossip or gospel though...

OKW has two queen beds in a studio.

Nothing has been released from DVC regarding a king bed in PVB's studios. Only thing I have heard is people asking for a king bed.

The artist rendering in the official announcement shows 1 bed, 1 sofa. Based on measuring relative dimensions in the picture, it appears to be a queen bed (longer than it is wide) and double sofa (narrower than bed). That said picture is marked "furnishings subject to change".

Per DVCNews.com

http://dvcnews.com/index.php/resort...s-come-to-light-in-filings-with-orange-county

No washer and dryer in the studios...only 2 bedrooms. Initial declaration is 10 of the 20 bungalows and 142 of 360 studios.

For the Polynesian, the guaranteed minimum (average) nightly cost is 22 points for a Standard View Deluxe Studio, 26 points for a Lake View Deluxe Studio and 147 points per night for a Bungalow.
FYI, Actual average nightly cost (weighted average using # of days per season x daily pts. for season) for VGF is currently 22 for Standard view Studio, 26 for Lake view Studio, and 146 for Grand Villa -- so point charts for PBV Studio/Bungalow should be identical to VGF Studio/Grand Villa).

I am way past the point of schlepping laundry to the laundry room. For anything over a 1 night stay, it is a one-bedroom for us.

Me, too. That's one reason I have no interest in the PVB.
