I'll be going down in Nov with my teenage son for our special birthdays (he turned 13 and I turned ...........well OLD!). We are both mini-golf and croquet fans and I've always had Fantasia mini-golf on my to-do list. This time we might actually do this.

I can't find anything on this board about it. Has anyone been there? Did you enjoy the themeing (looks really cool!) and was it worth the second round for half price?

Any tips or shared experiences would be great. Thanks!

We have golfed at Fantasia and really enjoyed it. The theming was excellent and it had a few suprises in store also. I would recommend it to anyone as it was alot of fun! I am sure that you will enjoy it...its worth it.

Have fun!:earsboy:

I love Fantasia! Go in the evening because it's really magical. It's a beautiful course and with MGM right nearby, it's fantastic.

I also did both courses at Winter Summerland. They're a lot of fun, too.

Definitely worth it. ::yes::

I often wondered about the minigolf myself. We're staying in Downtown Disney the day before we go to WL. Minigolf was on my mind. Thanks for starting this thread.

We (myself, hubby and children..now in their 20's..been golfing them both since they opened ) love Fantasia and WinterSummerland mini golf courses.

We have always done Winter Summerland. The theming is really great and both of the courses are fun.

Any idea how many minutes/hours one of these 4 courses takes to complete? And is the Fantasia Fairways OK to do if you're not an expert, or will I be passed up by any snobby pros?

I really wish they would offer mini-golf to use as a plus option from your WDW pass, don't you?::yes::

Thanks, any comments would to fine.

I have only ever been to WinterSummerland and it is great! The time depends on the size of your group and how much fun you have along the way. I went with my family (4 total) a couple of years ago and we were taking pictures of anyone who got a hole in one and had a great time. It took us about 45 minutes to do the Winter part. You can also ask the CM at the front of the course. They told us afterwards that one side was harder than the other, I forget which. The theming is cool and we usually go after spending time at Blizzard Beach.

We played a lot of mini-golf last Oct. and were thankful we had AP's. That 50% savings really added up. Our kids liked all the WDW courses.

One suggestion for families with small children. The Fantasia Gardens course can be very frustrating for the little ones. Many of the holes have steep inclines that you need to traverse. We saw many situations where kids were having trouble getting "off the tee" despite repeated attempts. This lead to frustrated kids, frustrated parents and frustrated people in the long line behind them. The WinterSummerland courses were easier all the way around.

Its all in the attitude! DD15 and I love mini-golf. We both are terrible at it! We go just to have fun. We always end up talking to the families in front and behind us. We cheer them on, laugh with them, let them laugh at US, and especially encourage the very little ones (who cares about a 3 yo "cheating"!). Yep, the lines get long BUT if you have a good attitude and interact with those around you, there is no tension.:wave2:

DH and I love Fantasia Gardens....lots of fun!! We did Fantasia Fairways once....we did awful...it was hard! We did have fun laughing at ourselves for doing so terribly. LOL!

Thanks for the encouragement........we'll be up to the challenge at Fantasia Fairways. I'm sure we'll also work up an appetite for lunch at Beaches and Cream, then try to work it off with a second round of golf!!;)

A plan is always a good one when there's food involved!!::yes::

We loved FG - Haven't tried FF yet, but may on our April trip. We went at night, fairly late & had no trouble with waits....

My DS7's favorite is the Summer course at Winter/Summerland, but he loves Fantasia Gardens, too. I have $150 budgeted for minigolf for our next trip for our family of 3, if that tells you anything! And I am counting on the 50% discount for a second round the same day! :rotfl:

Uncrowded, Fantasia Gardens takes about an hour. If it's really, really, crowded, it can take a lot longer. Although there is a rule that you are supposed to only have 4 in a party there, it isn't enforced. Large groups can mean very long waits. There isn't a lot of shade, so playing in the evening is good. You can also see some of the last fireworks from Fantasmic from the course.

It's OK to do Fantasia Fairways if you are not a golfing expert, but it isn't as much fun (especially if you've got kids) than the whimsical decorations of the Gardens course.

Winter Summerland isn't as much fun, in my opinion. Also, both courses at Winter Summerland are identical (just themed differently), so if you have done one, you've done them both.

Hi,

We have done the "hard" course at Fantasia mini-golf once and the fun side twice. We have also done the summer side of the Winter/Summerland course and out of the three we thought that the Winter/Summerland mini-golf area was better than the Fantasia mini-golf area. Something about mini-golfing with Christmas music playing in the background. We enjoyed this course and will do it again. I do not think you can go wrong with either course to be honest.
