anyone have a sony dsc-t7?

Hi. I have a DSC-t7 that i'll be taking with me in sept. I'm wondering if anyone has bought a generic battery for this camera, and if it works well. I've found a few 'knock off' versons (The battery model is NP-FE1) but I'm just worried they might mess up the camera, or won't work well. The battery that came with, I'm worried won't hold up long enough for a day @ the parks so I'm thinking of getting a new one. If you have the camera please let me know what experiences you've had. Thanks!

I checked Batterybarn.com. They list batteries for the T1 and T11 only. Considering they are in the same T series this statement appearing in the T1 and T11 listing may also apply to the T7.

"We highly recommend you stay with SONY original battery, Because Sony put a device in their camcorder or camera, It will recognize the non-Sony brand battery and refuse to work with it. For few dollars difference, STAY WITH SONY."


However my wife has one of the original T1s and using non Sony batteries. Bought then at Fry's. I think she said they don't hold a charge very well.

thanks, guess i'll stick with the sony, even though i'd say it's more than a 'few dollars' difference. You can find generics online for about 15, as apposed to the $55 sony battery. Maybe amazon will have a sale soon!
