Anyone have a Nikon Coolpix?

Is anyone willing to share any pics that they took at disney. I'm a little worried about blurriness from shaking when doing things like riding the monorail, or on slow moving attractions. Also, if anyone has an fireworks pics that were taken using the fireworks mode, that would be great to see!

My S630 will be here on Tuesday - when we return from our trip I'll definitely post TONS of pics in my trip report!!

My son, age 11, just received the Nikon Coolpix S220 and has been loving it. He read the manual and quickly mastered most of the features...the young always do. ;) He has been turning out some super photos (esp. nature shots) and lots of fun videos. He said the delay is short and he can quickly follow up with his next shot. I have a Canon Powershot (new last year) and really despise the delay. I swear I miss everything! :headache: Just my opinion.

FYI Nikon coolpix s230 is on sale at Target this week for $179.99 and includes a case and 2G memory card.

I'm going to get mine this week!

This is what I hate about our Sony - major delay. Glad to hear it's short on the Nikons.

I bought one of these less than 2 weeks ago, and I really like it. My previous digital camera was a Kodak Easyshare, and this one has so many more options (now I just have to figure out how to use them :) ) I got it at the electronics store with the big yellow tag for $280. It is 10MP and has a 15x digital zoom. The zoom is the reason we bought it, it is so hard to find a camera that has over 3x or 4x zoom. It is pretty bulky, so if you were looking for something that is compact, I wouldn't get it, but otherwise its worked great so far.

We just bought this one too. I have been taking pictures of my daughter's softball games. The shots are really good, and the delay is minimal. The zoom was what sold me on this one too. You're right, though. It is pretty bulky, but I totally think it is worth it. The pictures I'm getting are the best I've ever taken. I'm so happy with the purchase.

I got the nikon coolpix s550 about 2 weeks ago. I played with it and all of it's settings. I took pictures inside and out. During sunshine and cloudy days. Took over 500 pictures in the first week, using all of the settings, and found out that even though some of the pictures turned out beautiful, a good majority of them were blurry and the color was 'right'. I just wasn't happy. :guilty:I also found that the battery life was nothing compared to the camera it was replacing. One day the battery died after 72 pictures! That's just not enough for me on a full charge.

So I returned the camera and got Kodak M1063. It has less zoom, only 3x but still 10.3mp. I am going to miss the zoom, but the pictures that it takes are really very good! Definitely worth the loss of zoom because even when I crop the picture, it looks much better than the original pics did from the Nikon. The picture color with the kodak is much better, lines are clearer and sharper. Inside pics are bright, without being blurry like often happened with the Nikon. As for batter life, I haven't killed it yet! One day I took 126 pictures and the battery was still going. The next day I took another 40, without charging in between, and it was still ok. Someday soon I'll try to take pics until the battery dies, just to see how many I can get on one charge. It has quite a few optional settings. I've tried most of them. Everything seems to work as intended. I love the panorama setting. I hope to try the fireworks setting over memorial day weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works great so that i can get some good wishes pictures during vacation!

I am so happy with my little Kodak! It's a great point and shoot. AND... it came in purple!! My favorite color!! :cool1:

Last year we went to WDW with a cannon powershot and of coarse the day we get there the flash died and it just wasn't "right" anymore. When we got home I grabbed a Nikon P80 with an 18x zoom at 10 MP. The pics are beautiful but the big test will be in less than 3 weeks!

Within the last few months I've learned that there are other settings besides AUTO and have really been getting into it. One of the settings I'm really loving has the ability to take 13 pictures per sec. At my 5yr old's T-ball practice it's cool to have 30 pictures of his swing and see his expressions change:lmao:

It's definitely not a camera that slips in your pocket but it's no where near as heavy or bulky as a DSLR.

Here's a thread of some pics I took with it

(notice the pics that look identical are all a little different at 13fps)
