Dh and I spend last night at the auto show checking out the new cars. We currently drive a Ford Windstar (my second one) and I really like it. It will need to be replaced in the next year or so and we are looking at new options. They have the new Freestar, which is basically what I have, but we were also looking at the Mazda MPV. I know that there are other great vans out there, Honda, Toyota etc, but my dad worked for Ford for 3o years, so we will be buying something we get an A plan discount on, which included Mazda. I am wondering if you have one, how you like it???

Thanks!

I love ours. We have had it for three years! It is rather small but that is what I wanted. We only have two small kids and not quite ready for big carpools yet but when I do have the neices and nephews over it still holds seven fine. Te only thing I wish I had gotton was tinted windows! We bought it when money was really tight (I stay at home) and we got a better deal on the one with out. I oppt.for back A/C instead. I love my car so much two of my best friend bought one too!!

Thanks for the input! I would definitely go with privacy glass, had it on both Windstars. Anyone else have one?

Thanks.

I have one and I love it. I bought my first minivan 4 years ago, and it is a 2000 MPV. I love how the back seat folds down into the floor. And how the middle row of seats can slide to make a bench seat or two "captain's chairs" We comfortably fit 7 adults or 3 adults and 3 carseats as needed. Mine is still going strong, is paid off and won't be replaced for a while! I highly recommend.

I don't have one, but am considering one. Can you tell me how they handle in the snow? My DH is not real excited about me getting a mini van because he worries about sliding/fishtailing. I am NOT a fast driver, especially in the snow.

Thanks! :)

Can't help you on the snow thing!! I live in New Orleans, and snow doesn't get this far south, but it handles great in rain and flooded streets!

We had one for about 10 years before we traded it in. It was a 4WD MPV that we got in Nov 93. Before that we had a 2WD MPV for about 1 year before we got the 4WD. We had moved to Montana and lived out in the country. The first winter we got stuck in the snow on our road about 3 or 4 times. Had to get a friend to pull us out. The next winter we had a baby and traded in to get the 4WD - nearly identical, only 4WD. Never got stuck again. But 4WD was no good on ice. Now we have a Toyota Sienna.
