DD wants a digital camera for christmas so we've agreed to give her mine (there's nothing wrong with it) and I'll get a new one. I just want something simple that takes good indoor and outdoor photos - and downloads easily. Does anyone have a Kodak M530 or can you recommend a similiar one you like?

I do have that camera but I am not sure how much help I am going to be. I received for my birthday last month and so far so good but I haven't read the manual or printed any pics from it yet. So I don't even fully understand how to use it yet. Yeah no very helpful I know sorry :confused3

But I can tell you it has face recognition where you can tag a persons face and it will remember that person and you can look through your photos by date or tagged people. You may tag up to 10.

It also has an option where if you take a picture in a portrait manner it will automatically turn the picture to be viewed in the monitor thingy in a landscape style. So all the pictures are viewed the same way and the camera doesn't have to be flipped back and forth. Then it returns to the way it was taken when printed.

It also has the share button option. Where you can share directly with your facebook account, multiple email accounts, or your online gallery. I don't like that I have to unclick all of those pictures that I have already shared before the next time I upload my pics or atleast I haven't found a way to unclick them all at once. My only other complaint is that it takes awhile for the camera to actually come on once I turn it on.

So far from what I have used it for (uploading only no printing) it takes good quality pics. I do need to figure out how to turn off the post view of the pics but like I said I need to read the book. My father bought it at Target on sale for $99 so you may wanna keep that price point in mind. Mine was an old stock of it because it had a Mother's Day coupon inside but it is still good until 12/31. $30 off any $30 or more purchase at Kodak Gallery. So if you purchase it from Target you may wanna look towards the back or get an overlooked color to get that coupon.

Costco.com is having a sale on them right now. They are $119.99. Their site lists some reviews as well. May be worth a look there. This seems like a great price.

The one on Costco.com is the M580, not M530.

You can find the M530 on sale for around $99, but it's also at Sams Club for $89.

I won an M530 on Twitter and it's a great little camera. I would prefer the M580 because it's got a much farther optical zoom (8x vs the M530's 3x), but my M530 was free and I really didn't need a new camera. Also, the M580 takes HD videos instead of plain VGA so the quality is better.

If I were spending my own money, I'd spend a little more and get the M580.
