With the skin on, slice the potatoes into 1/4" pieces either rounds or lengthwise, does not matter. Brush both sides with with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and cook on the BBQ, they take about 35 minutes or so. Sooooo yummy and perfect to go with grilled steak!
What I am making to go with the ham
Peeled potatoes sliced
shredded cheese - cheddar & jack (50/50 split)
half & half & milk (50/50)
Salt & pepper
In a deep dish baking pan place a layer of potatoes, sprinkle with salt & pepper, cover with cheese. Repeat until the dish is full, squish them down with your hands to make sure the layers are well compressed. Add milk & half & half until 3/4 of the taters are submerged.
Cover with foil, bake at 350 for approx 2.5 hours - remove foil, add another thick layer of cheese and bake for an additional 30-45 minutes depending on how crispy you like your cheese topping
