Instead of DH and I eating hot fudge sundaes for dessert at night, we want to try something a little healthier. We Love Jamba Juice, but neither of us is motivated to go out and get that in the evening after dinner, so I want to try to make some smoothies on my own. Anyone have a good recipe? Thanks!

I don't have a recipe, but if you have fresh or frozen fruit, some orange juice, a banana, and some yogurt, you have the makings of smoothies.

I use a banana, berry yogurt (sometimes ice cream instead), honey, OJ and milk. Delicious!

Orange Freeze - orange juice, strawberries (about 8), pineapple(8), and a banana. This will make enough for two cups. You can also put in blueberries instead of strawberries. Umm Umm. You can buy this for about $5 at a local store.

The smoothie that I make is 16 oz. of fat free vanilla yogurt, half a banana, a few strawberries, half a can of pineapple, a handful or two of ice. Blend and serve ;) It's very good.

When I was pregnant my hubby started making milkshakes at night. We swicthed over to fuirt smothies as they are so much better for you.

We don't have a recipe, as we genrally just put a bunch of fruit, (frozen and fresh, whatever we have) in the blender along with some ice and some kind of juice. I have found some juices work better then others, (mango, peach, thicker juices.) Fruit we sometimes use is: strawberries, pinapple, peaches, melon (water, canalope, musk) sometimes berries (blue, rasberry). We almost always throw in a bananna, they make it smoth and creamy. You can add yogurt, milk or sobet if you want. We don't as that tend to add calories and fat and I am lactose intolerant so less milk is better for me.

Good luck and just have fun with the blender and furit.

I discovered that the trick is to freeze the fruit--even the bananas. Use 1 banana (slice before freezing) about a cup of other fruit (I usually use a berry medley that I have sliced and frozen) an 8 oz container of yogurt and about 8 oz of 100% fruit juice. I find if I blend the yogurt and a bit of the juice first, then slowly add the rest of the fruit and juice, my blender is less likely to get "stuck".

Enjoy! :drinking1

Hi everyone This is The Princess' Daughter I make alot of smoothies so here are some of my recipies....

1. Get a daquari mix and add ice and water thats my favorite and it soo easy!!

2. Use ice, blue berries, and strawberries and water thats a good one too.
For smooties you can use really any fruit and or water or milk it all depends on what you like!! :

We just use whatever fruit is on hand. If its berries and bananas we use skim milk, if its anything with citrus we use OJ. We also freeze the fruit first. Its quite yummy and the kids love them.
