What do you think about it?

We are thinking about getting it for our DD who turns 18 tomorrow.

Hi, Deb - I got them for my daughters (15 and 20) and my daughter's boyfriend (also 20) for Christmas this past year. My older daughter was going to be out of the country for the semester and I wanted her to be able to take some movies of the things she saw on her trip. It seemed like such a neat idea!! I think she has enjoyed using it. Don't know how much the BF is using his (my idea was that they could send video clips to each other but that was before I knew about Skype and the live webcam!) but my younger DD has had fun with hers - using it for school projects and on vacation, too. I got the middle of the road model so I wouldn't be out so much if they didn't like tham and I would have room to upgrade a year or two later if they loved them and wanted a newer model.

I think they are great!!

We have one (a 60 minute model) and I am actually thinking of getting another. DD is into making movies and having extra space for images without having to dump every hour would be good.

It is one of the best things we have bought recently, has made DD's life SO much easier, you should see the class projects she is now able to put together (of course it helps that we have a pretty new iMac as well :teeth: ...) She also put together a couple of GREAT films of the extended family from Thanksgiving. She edited the footage, added music and titles and then copied the films onto DVDs, put together liner notes and we gave the DVDs to some relatives as Christmas presents.

We got ours at Costco back in the fall. They seem to not be carrying them right now, but look around for some deals - I think Amazon.Com has some of the various models in stock.

agnes!

We got my 14 year old one for his birthday. I got the middle of the road one as well because I wasn't sure how he wold do with it. (non HD one)

He uses it alot but has a few quibbles on it. It fills up quickly and he doesn't really like the software it uses. He also wishes it would do still pictures as well.

He does like the USB charging ability because he has used it at his friends house and stuff like that.

If she wants to use it for small projects and fun things it should work well.

I bought mine at Amazon but BJ's had them for sale there as well.

I have the Kodak Zi6 and love it. If I were buying now I would get the Zx1.

I like that it has removable memory, takes still and HD video and uses rechargeable AA batteries. I also like that it is a little bigger than the flips because, for me, it was easier to hold it steady. I highly recommend these cameras.

Happy birthday to your DD!

Thanks, everyone!!

DD has a MacBook (Christmas gift), and I was looking for something that would let her take short videos and share them easily.

From what I"m hearing, this would fit the bill!

I have one & love it. I actually use it for my business. I take videos of the kids dancing & then we can post it on my web-site or on our Facebook page.
