Hey everyone! so im going in january for the FREE DISNEY DINING PLAN :goodvibes for the first time ever (ive never used the dining plan before either!) and im curious if anyone has, or knows opf any resources for more in depth analysis on the items allowed on the plan...

for example, the plan states that non alcoholic beverages are included with the table service credit. does this mean that, say, a milkshake qualifies, or a specialty drink, is the same as regular ol' soda to disney on this plan? Im looking for some info regarding these kind of examples.

also, if anyone can point me to a resource that shows great SNACK locations, or great snack items covered by the plan, i would really appreciate it!

Thank you! :grouphug:

Hi and welcome! there is a "sticky" at the top of this page with confirmed snacks. that is the best and most up to date as far as snack credits. as far as the shake/specialty drink in lieu of regular ole soda, i think the response has been variable. and the answer "yes" is more likely to come from those restaurants actually owned and operated by Disney

At TS restaurants the non-alcoholic beverages are generally fountain drinks such as soda, coffee, tea and lemonade. At the Disney owned venues there is more leeway. Some restaurants will allow milk shakes, smoothies (usually no refills) and virgin cocktails. The non-Disney owned restaurants are far more strict because they are reimbursed according to the guidelines of the plan. Whenever you have questions about something on the menu ask your server.

As far as snacks the sticky at the top of the page is a good guide. Also you'll see the purple DDP logo next to items on the CS and cart menus. The general rule of thumb has been items of approx $4.00 or less will qualify, although there are exceptions.

Also, if you read through this board and the Restaurant Board there are many questions that others have asked about the dining plan which will give you a lot of additional information.

Because of the enormous variance in restaurants and their specific allowances on the DDP, there is no such list.

I do know that it has been reported Via Napoli will not cover any specialty beverages at all on DDP. The restaurants like Via Napoli that are not operated by Disney tend to be stricter about what type of beverage they will cover.

The OP has already been directed to the snack thread. This thread reports on what readers on the DIS have been able to use a snack credit for. It is not an official list provided by Disney. It should be mentioned that Disney reserves the right to change those offerings at any time without notice, and it doesn't cover 2012. We won't have a confirmed snack thread for 2012 until guests start reporting what they've been able to get in 2012.
