I am thinking about buying a Chi flat iron and I just wondered if anyone had one. Do you like it? Is it worth the money?

I'm a stylist, and the Chi and the Paul Mitchell flat irons are awesome. There is another brand out there that is just as good, but right now I can't think of the name of it. Yes, these irons are pretty pricey, but they are so worth it. :thumbsup2

I have a chi and my dd has a paul mitchell. We love both of them and they are so worth the money!!

I got my Chi as a gift, but I LOVE it! I don't know that I would have spent the $$ on it though. I am cheap and don't usually spend that much on myself.

I bought one for my DD for Christmas and she loves it. Her hair is incredibly soft after using it. Her old one would fry her hair. It was on sale for a very good price through Amazon.

The Chi is awesome! I bought DD(14) one a year and a half ago after we tried her friend's Chi. I got it on ebay for a price that was a few dollars better than a friend could get at a beauty supply store. It is used just about every day and still looks and works like brand new. If you are considering a flat iron I would def get this one!

My DD wants for Xmas; I know they are $$$! Her hair dresser said they are the best and it is an investment piece she will have for years. So maybe by Xmas I can find a decent price on one!:scared1:

i have two :rolleyes1 (could not take the chance of ever being without one so bought a back-up). the first one is about 2 years old (never had a single prob with it), & the 2nd not even out of the box yet.
the only 2 products i could not live without are my chi, & dyson vacuum (i have 2 dysons also:rolleyes: ).

a few suggestions:
~ buy from a salon (i bought both of mine from ulta, with coupon). the company will not honor the warranty otherwise
~ while not as pretty as the colorful chi's, the simple black/gold style is the sturdiest (made of diff material). i've dropped mine repeatedly & no breakage
~ use only on dry hair unless specifically made for wet (else it will "fry" hair), & use a protectant!! quite a few brands make them, including chi (i use & swear by "proclaim" that i get from my stylist)

btw, now when i go to WDW, my hair stays soft, smooth & frizz-free allllllll day (even in the rain). i've tried other flat irons, & the difference a chi makes is amazing!! :thumbsup2 (sorry if i sound like an infomercial, but it's one of the few products that actually work like its supposed to)

I have the CHI flat iron and CHI hair dryer. I love them both! I think they are very much worth the money spent.

I looooove my Chi. 100% worth the money. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc Just don't wrap the cord around it. Apparently that causes it to short out.

I am so excited to hear good things about this.:yay: I wanted to buy one, but they aren't cheap. So, I wanted to make sure they were worth the money first. It sounds like they definately are.....Thanks for helping me make my decision.:)

Another fan of Chi. I love mine. I paid $100 on Amazon with no problems. I have read reviews about companies not offering warrenties on Amazon but I haven't had a problem with mine.

I don't have one, but I used my sis's when I was at her house, and it is soooo much better than anything else I've ever used. She's had hers for years and swears by it - and she has VERY thick kind of wavy hair. She said she can't regular flat iron her hair, but she can always "chi" it nice and straight.

I found it ridiculus to pay sooo much for a Chi until several people kept telling me that is what I needed. I thought $45 was a lot to pay!

Well, I caved and I love it! I am so glad I bought it and I baby it! I don't leave it plugged in after turning it off and I don't wrap the cord around it and I dare my DD to use it!!! I can't risk something happening to it and then having to tell my husband "I'll need another $125 for a Chi"! I have the basic black and gold one too.

Well worth it!

Another CHI lover (that sounds so wrong!) Anyway... I have naturally curly/wavy hair - it USED to take me about 1 min in the morning with the blow dryer and my hair was done - nice soft waves that everyone raved about - THEN - went to the stylist - had my hair cut - she asked if I had ever flat-ironed my hair - I said that I have never even seen myself with straight hair - she used her CHI - and I walked out of the salon that day with my own cute hot pink CHI - she actually gave me my haircut for free - and I got the CHI for $125. They were having a contest and she would get "more" for selling the CHI than the haircut - anyway... my morning routine has now increased from 1 minute to about 30 - but the compliments I get  - Although I always ask if I looked "that bad" before!?!

I had zero experience with any kind of flat iron tool - but I don't think it could work any better than it does! I don't think you will be disappointed!

Great story.

I have wanted to get one for awhile but the price terrifies me.:scared1:
Where is everyone buying one? Our salon on base does not sell them but I could try downtown. Amazon maybe?

I have one and I love it. I've had it for about a year now. I got mine from Amazon for around $80.00 and that's about the cheapest I've seen it.

I do and could not live without it!

I have puffy hair. LOL My chi makes my hair look like silk. ;)

I also have 2. I have one as a back up. That is one thing that I do not want to find myself without.

I honestly could not believe the difference it made in my hair the first time I used it. My hairdresser is the one that told me about them. It's the only flat iron that she trusts. I also have got tons of compliments since I started using my Chi.

Be very careful with it. Do not wrap the cord and always unplug when not using. My first Chi lasted 3 months! My niece dropped it once and it was never the same, didn't get as hot and just stopped working one day. I had to go 2 weeks without my Chi and it was torture! :rotfl:

Folica.com is where I purchased both of mine. They are cheaper there. They have the 1 year warranty. Also it's great to go there and see the pics of people that are using it and read the reviews.
