Anyone happy with their BCV view?

I know that the views are the one weak area of this resort, but I'd like to know if anyone was satisfied with the location of their room.

We were in a 2 BR with views of Illuminations and Spaceship Earth. You might think this was ideal (and it was great on our first night when we were too tired to go to Epcot and watch Illuminations); however, there was also an ugly view of the service road and yes, you could hear *some* road noise even from the top floor.

Although my 3 yo dd loved looking at the ball, I would trade off this view for a room which was genuinely quiet AND did not view something ugly, like a parking lot or a wall. (We spend almost no time on our balcony regardless of the view, so quiet is more important to us)

Did anyone have such a room (quiet with no ugly views) or was the room I had as good as it gets?

Thanks for your help.

Our room on the third floor overlooked the quiet pool, directly over the canal. The view was great, the room was quiet, and we could park very close to the building. From our room #370 it was a very quick one to two minute walk to either the quiet pool or our car. Never saw any more than 12 people at the pool during our Oct 20-25 trip. Watching the 4-5 foot baby alligator and the many turtles in the canal was a lot a fun, too. I would highly recommend a room on the pool side of the resort.

Hi,

It sounds like you are in the same section we are. Our room is 455. It has a huge double balcony with a view of space shift earth. We also were able to see all of the high fireworks from Illuminations.

The road is right below and you can here traffic in the mornings, but it is not obtrusive. Then again, we have trains near the house back home.

Our main problem with this view is the sun is right in your eyes until late morning. I usually like to take coffee and a paper out there until everyone is up. There is no way you can read, even if you hide behind a pillar.

Otherwise the room is great! All we need now is more points to come more often.

I was there last weekend in a studio on the 5th floor with a woods/swamp view. We could see Illuminations over the trees and had NO noise. The only thing I had to complain about the area was on the 5th floor there are lights on the balcony that are on all night. The curtains do a pretty good job af blocking it though. I had requested an EPCOT view when I made the ressie but when I checked in they only had "smoking optional" at the time there. I was given the choice of woods view or pool view and chose the woods for the quiet.

mb168, do you remember your room number? Were you on the Epcot side near the canal? How far were you from the elevator?

nuthut, how far were you from the elevator?

Thanks.

Our first room was 371 and 369. This room had a great view of spaceship earth and we could see illuminations from our balcony. It also had the canel right below and the service road. I actually really like this room. The service road didn't bother me one bit.

Our second room was very quiet. Room 529 and 527 also had a really good view of illuminations, but it also had a great view of the wood and wetlands which really didn't interest me at all. I much preferred looking out my balcony right at spaceship earth as opposed to woods.

I guess to each his own.

I believe it was 524. If you went in the main entrance to the elevator and up, we were the first room to the left when you got off. No noise from that either.

When we were there in Sept and Oct we had room 546 and 544 (I think), anyway it was overlooking the woods and the wetlands. You could see the sign for the Boardwalk and the water tower with the Mickey Ears (Earfull tower?), I thought it was a great view.

I have seen a lot of negative views about the BCV and I think it is unfortunate, we absolutely loved our stay and our decision to buy at the Beach Club. Without getting into which Vacation Club resort is the best, every resort has its good and bad points, I think that just because the BCV is the newest the negatives are being pointed out.

Alot of people have bought into the BCV, and have yet to stay there, I just hope some of these posts don't make them worry that they made a bad decision.

I know this post probably wasn't the place to bring this up and will probably get hammered in the following posts, but for some people joining the Vaction Club is a piece of the Dream and I hate to see it being tarnished.

Invalid_Char this rambling is not just directed at this post I guess it is the straw that broke the camels back and for that I am sorry.

Belle and Rella's Dad,

Thanks for your post! Don't get me wrong, I think that the Beach Club Villas are the best deal in family vacationing in the entire COUTNRY! And we've been almost everywhere.

I have visited the other DVC resorts and have decided that BCV is the best one for our family and that is why we have all of our 400 points at BCV. I think the atmosphere, pool and proximity to Epcot are unbeatable. The resort also has a somewhat neutral theme that I do not think I will tire of in 40 years. Imo, this resort would be worth staying at even if the views were of the town dump, so I do not think anyone should be discouraged by my post.

I said that BCV is not known for its views only on the basis of what other DVCers have said. I have not actually been inside the rooms of the other DVC resorts, so I am just taking other people at their word that the views at the other resorts are better.

I am a very light sleeper and we tend to sleep in a bit in the morning. That is the only reason why I started this thread, to find out where the quietest rooms are that have decent views for the rest of the family. Thanks for responding!

mb168... that would be room 525. (There is no 524).

I agree with both Belle and Rella's Dad and invalid_char. I want those of you who have not been to BCV yet that I don't regret one of my 900 BCV points and wouldn't want them at any other DVC resort. We really enjoyed our stay, it is a spectacular resort, our view of spaceship earth was beautiful and my kids really enjoyed sitting on our balcony in thier pj's every night watching the fireworks. We actually went to illuminations one night and had an awesome spot to watch the fireworks, both my kids got soot in their eyes from the fireworks and told us they much preferred watching them from the balcony.

You just have to remember that the things you read on these boards are opinions and your opinion may be different than theirs. My opinion is that I loved my stay and my view at the BCV and wouldn't trade it for any thing.

Invaild_char,

I am glad you replied, I did not mean anything in specific to your thread and I appreciate what you have said. We also have all of our 410 points (originally 310, but of course had to do 100 point add on about a week after signing the first papers) at the Beach Club, so I guess I look at it as defending my house, sorry.

As I stated in the last post, our room was overlooking the woods and swamp and was extremely quiet ( except for some parents in the room next to us having a meltdown on each other ). I definately would request that view again on the 5th floor. We will be back at the BCV in Oct of next year, after a couple of stays in the so called Deluxe resorts ( I only say this because we are spoiled by the Vacation Club ), we think it is best for our family.

Actually I just looked at my paperwork from express checkout I still have and it was 527. I usually don't remember the number anyway, just how far to walk, or stumble after Food and Wine Festival:D , to the right door. They should print that on the keys like it used to be back in the old real metal key days. I don't know how many times I've sat in front of a waiter trying to remember what room number I'm in.

We just returned and had an Epcot view. room 452, also known as a very long walk to the elevator!
The view of Epcot was nice but I think we were looking at the back of Canada pavilion, the service road and a behind the scenes parking lot at Epcot. DH was bothered by the road noise in the morning but it didnt bother me at all.
I think Id like a pool view next time.

We stayed at BCV in August approximatly four weeks after it opened. Stayed in a studio non smoking room I think it was room 422. We had a view of the woods and the French Ifel tower. It was very quiet and short walk to the elevator. The view of the fireworks from this room was breathtaking. Throughly enjoyed our stay at BCV.

We returned from Disney in Oct. 2002 stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. Don't mean to sound like a snob; however, it was a let down compared to BCV. We enjoyed our stay; however, you do appreciate the value DVC offers.

Unfortunately the trip to Port Orleans was a last minute trip and there was nothing available at any of the DVC resorts. Enjoyed the trip!!

We had a courtyard view in September, and I'd ask for it again. No noise whatsoever, we could see the front entrance to our right, the courtyard in front, and the courtyard is surrounded by wings of both BC and BCV. I liked being able to see the other buildings, they are really beautiful. Probably the place to see the most activity. We loved it. Rooms 205 and 207. Fabulous balconies.

We were soooooo happy with our view and room location, it was perfect. We were in a Studio ( room 563) and we had a great view of the big golf ball, we also had the service road and canal below us. We were located at the very end of the complex with an elevator literally right around the corner from our room. This was perfect for those late night trips to the jacuzzi because we just had to step off the elevator and the pool was right there!! We never ever heard a sound from the service road, the traffic is pretty minimal and we never heard it anyway. The only thing that was kind of annoying was the fact that we could not turn off the light over the balcony. It's on all the time. However, we thought the room was perfect and I would definitely want this room again. The bonus is that we didn't even request a view, we were prepared to take our chances and it worked!!!!!

Belle2002... just curious, you don't mention if you could see illuminations from that room. I was just wondering if that would also be a good room to see the fireworks from? Thanks in advance.

We were in non-smoking studio #412 in July, and I found it "practically perfect in every way." It was close to the lobby, close to the first elevators, and had a lovely view of the quiet pool. Best of all, it is very close to the laundry room which matters when you are in a studio (and do laundry obsessively like I do!) I heard no noise and didn't have to pass many rooms to get to mine, after leaving the elevators, so I didn't worry about my kids making noise! We enjoyed this room immensely.

I am getting the sense that people are happy with all of the views at the BCV: Epcot, courtyard, quiet pool, woods and Beach Club. Are other people getting that sense?

We have stayed at BCV for 2 long weekend trips since opening. we had a epcot view and a courtyard view and we loved both of them.
