anyone had this problem with a toddler?

my Nick is WILD - so WILD that my pediatrician told me at our 15 month appt. - "You REALLY have your hands full - we will see you in 3 months - actually probably less b/c I bet he is going to break a bone or get stitches" (he was right) and everywhere I go - people ask me if he is always so wild- he always seems to have a black eye or cut b/c he has no fear and never sits still

needless to say I was a little worried for our last trip - Julia is a bundle of energy too - and bought two harnesses - I never used them - well Julia asked to wear one a couple of times and I let her :rotfl2: she thought it was really cool

there was so much going on that Nick just wanted to sit in the stroller and take it all in - TOTALLY surprised me - so maybe she will surprise you bit and just want to take it all in -

you can buy the harnesses at walmart for $5 and I have found when my kids put them on - they love them (Julia will even hold her own and not run away - b.c the harness is made to stop her from doing that!)

anyway - I wouldn't stress about it - and she is at a great age where she will just love everything and want to take it all in!!!!

Our son is very busy, but like others he was distracted by all the stuff around. We also used a harness (leash) sometimes. I also used a sling when waiting in line. He liked bing held, I did not have to try and keep track of him, and the sling helped with the weight, much better than just holding him. We also had him ride on dad's shoulders sometimes.

Thanks for all the info. I loved the "Runs with Scissors" post.... I needed a chuckle and that did it for me. I have said my dd 19 mths reminds me of a cross between Lilo and Stitch. She will be sweet as sugar and then all the sudden 626 kicks in and it is all over.
Thanks to all!!

we took DD age 2.5 to the parks in January. She is quite energetic and only likes the stroller at times. Well we bought a harness. Figuring for safety. We used it the first 2 days and after that she behaved quite well. After that she did not want the harness but understood that she needed to hold our hand or in the stroller. I loved the harness. It helped her manange her excitement. She could walk freely but we still had control of how far she could get ahead of us. I know soem people hate them, and I was one of those people. We decided to get one for her safety. She did wonderfully in the park. I think it is a magical place for kids of all ages. Just plan for many breaks and do what feels right for you and your family. I know you will all have a wonderful time.
