I was hoping someone who had their wedding, or have been to a wedding, at the China Pavilion in EPCOT could post some pics and/or tell me their experience. We're planning to hold our reception there and wanted to know how it went for other people.

I haven't been able to find anyone who's held a wedding here so any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!!

I remember awhile back there was a bride that had her reception in the China pavilion. Unfortunately, I do not remember who it was, but hopefully somebody else does. Sorry. :worried:

It was superdiz, but she never came back to tell us how it went. :( So I guess you'll have to post pictures after your reception! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I did get in contact with superdiz about her wedding at the China Pavilion. Her pictures are amazing! I'm very excited about holding it there and will be able to definitely get our "exotic" theme we're looking for.

I'll be sure to post pictures!

Hello! rcortese711! Did you decide to hold your wedding at the China Pavilion?
You posted that you saw some photos of another wedding hosted there... do you have a contact or a link you could refer me to, so that I might be able to see these photos also? The reason I ask is that I am planning a corporate dinner there and getting photos has proven quite difficult and I can't go out for a site inspection. Thanks!

Sugarplumfairy, I found superdiz off disboards and sent her an email through the site. She then emailed me back. I would try that. She has great pics! Whens your corporate dinner?

Thanks.... I'll see if I can find superdiz for those pics. Our dinner is in October will be having a plated dinner for approx. 100 at China Pavilion, then going to the French Island for dessert party and Illuminations viewing. I think its going to be fantastic... I just would like to reassure myself with some additional photos. If you'd like, I'll touch base with you after the event and let you know how it goes. (By the way, July 31st... great date... my son's b-day!) I would have LOVED to have a Disney wedding... you are a lucky bride!

I am sure it is going to go wonderfully. I can't wait to hear about the menu choices you are going to make!

Thanks! Pictures would be wonderful from your function. I'm having such a hard time picturing how we want our reception to look. We're going to Disney in August so we can map everything out a little better. I'll be sure to think of your son July 31st, :goodvibes. Happy early birthday!

I just hope that my guests don't get to hot in the humid, Florida weather in July. But we'll be indoors so we should be ok.

Thanks! The menu choice is very difficult so far.... we have so many ideas and as cost isn't exactly a deciding factor, we have so many options to choose from! I know we definitely want a sundae bar  lol. Gosh, so many decisions when getting married!!

I know what you mean about the menu.... I've had a difficult time with that as well! I think we are going to do the signature service plated dinner with a choice of filet, chicken or fish. But some of the buffet choices sound awesome also!

I think having your reception at an indoor venue in July is a smart idea.... it will be hot and humid, not to mention they do get quite a bit of rain still then. I wanted to be indoor also, even though we won't have the heat, I would hate to have a weather problem ruin the event. And from what I understand from someone who did have a weather problem... there is absolutely no compensation back from Disney, so smart to just be prepared for it.

Anyway, yes, I'll be sure to send you pics of our dinner reception... and feel free to contact me with any other questions too!

I must admit, I've been a total lurker for months and months... and have been too shy to say anything, especially to all your wedding planning gurus.

But after seeing this thread, I had to come out of hiding..

I'm actually planning the exact same wedding as you (WP and China Pavilion reception) on Feb 26 2010 and I'm really curious to see how the reception looks like fully decorated.

I've tried to PM superdiz but apparently I need 10 posts to be "allowed" to do that. :(

Is it possible for you to send me a link to any photos? Sorry for any inconvenience. I'm so lost .. and would really appreciate ANY help ...

Ha, I'd like to see pictures myself as I'm having a wedding there too. Although mine will be ceremony and reception. If you could PM me the pictures, too, that'd be appreciated. ;p

I'm also contemplating a China Pavillion wedding reception. Any insiders tips/photos would be GREATLY appreciated!

I finally found a post inquiring about a wedding or reception in China! :goodvibes Has anyone recently had a wedding or reception and have pics to share of what it looks like in China? :thumbsup2

At this point I would be happy to see any pics since the DFTW site is quite limited. Thanks.

We've selected China Pavilion for our wedding reception, but out wedding isn't until October 2009! I can't wait until I can say, when I get married THIS year! :) Anyway, Our planning session is February 13th and we are having a site visit. I'll be able to post pictures of the space (undecorated) but maybe that will help you guys out. I will definitely be posting pics after my wedding, but that's several months away! :)

How awesome is that! Our VR isn't until December 2009. What is your theme? I can't wait to see the pictures!

Well, I don't know if we really have a "theme" per se....I think it's going to be a mix of anything and everything that DF and I like :) Our colors are black, white, with red accent (FMIL is trying to change that, but if I stand firm, these are our colors)....I think the ceremony decorations will be simple but our reception will have oriental pieces added to fit in with the location. We're thinking bamboo and orchids for the centerpieces, probably chinese take out boxes with goodies inside as the favor, etc. We have a wedding website, feel free to check it out.

Enjoy! :)
