We are having to have our transmission rebuilt and I am just a little worried about how it will hold up afterwards.

You might want to ask how much more it would cost to put a new one or a factory rebuilt one with a warranty in. I've done that -- got almost 4 additional years out of the van. I will soon be facing doing a transmission in my current van -- it's leaking like crazy but will still run okay now as long as I stay on top of the fluids. I can save about 40% going with rebuilt, but I'm not sure I have the nerve to do it. The new one has a three-year warranty.

I am facing a similar dilemma, as my engine is burning up oil pretty rapidly. My car just hit 200,000 miles, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised the engine is having problems. I am getting a second opinion on the engine, to see if it's fixable within reason, or just too expensive to bother. My dealer looked at it last week and said it would be $4000 for a new engine block! :faint: I want to keep my current car, so I hope something can be done!
