Hi ladies!

I have had a ridiculous quote from Disney for my BM bouquets.

Could anyone tell me what they paid for their BM and bridal peony bouquet? It doesn't matter too much if you had other flowers too.

Many thanks :goodvibes

I remember a girl who had them a few years ago and said her bridal bouquet cost more than $400. I think they have a pretty short season, and I know from buying them at Trader Joe's for about a month that you can never predict when they'll open or what color they'll turn!

I can't answer your question as I didn't have peonies, but they happen to be my favorite flower, so I can understand why you want them! You do know that they have a VERY limited season (generally they bloom for 2 weeks in May), right? If you want them at any other time, they would be forced blooms, which are wildly expensive...

Hi girls, thanks for your replies :)

Fortunately, we are getting married in mid May. Hopefully we will have no trouble getting them. I am just concerned about the cost

I had peonies and ranunculus for my bridesmaids. They were $125 I think. I asked for "posey sized", which is slightly smaller because I didn't want the bouquets to be the focal point. It also saves on cost having them a smaller size.

My bouquet was more mixed: peonies, ranunculus, craspedia, garden roses, etc. It was $275.

Don't they look thrilled to be there? :rotfl:

Yes, peonies are one of the more expensive types of flowers - running about $8-12/stem and only available in May (June from Holland). I know Disney charges even more ridiculous prices for flowers so if my charge is 8-12 a stem , then their charge of $400 for a bouquet sounds right if they normally would be about 175-250 for a bridal bouquet for my charge. Maybe you could ask them do do less blooms or a mixture of just like three peonies and other cost effective blooms - peonies are very large and you can get away with using less. They come in burgundy, medium pink, bubblegum pink and white. If you wanted peonies and your wedding is in another month than May or early June, you could do 'garden roses' they look almost identical to peonies and are a great alternative (available most of the year) - although sometimes their prices can be the same as peonies and sometimes even more. [I own a flower shop in a suburb of DC and get a lot of brides that want them in other months and they are definitely only available at that time any where in the world] :hippie:

I didn't use Disney Floral, but I wanted peonies in my bouquet. She ended up substituting roses in the place of the peonies because of price and availability.

Hi! Thanks for your reply :)

Could you tell me how big in diameter the BM bouquets were?

Many thanks :goodvibes

I wanted peonies, but they were out of season for my January wedding. My florist suggested garden roses instead. They are not nearly as large as peonies, but they have all the ruffles and they smell divine! So, if cost becomes an issue, they're something to consider.

To give you an example, these are our centerpieces, and the white flower is a garden rose.

Thanks for the pic! Your bouquet looked gorgeous. I feel I would just like something a little different though. I have only just discovered peonies and have developed a bit of an obsession with them :lovestruc

Still not quite sure what other flowers to have with them. I love hydrangeas too but I am not sure if they are in season in May.:goodvibes
