Anyone had luck arriving the day before a code starts?

We were booked 12/6 to 12/14. We received a 20% pin code for 12/7 through 12/13. The CM said that he couldn't apply it to our package with a 12/6 arrival but could with 12/7. We would have to lose 1 day off our trip or fly home on a Monday where DS misses 6 days of school instead of 5...

Anyone had this work differently??

If I really want to come I just book the day that is not covered with the code and hope AP's or FL discounts cover that one day

The problem is that we are on a package so that means no dining or park tix the first night if we just do a room only.

when do you plan on arriving that first day? unless its early morning, i'd book room only and then check out the resort or DTD, pay OOP for any meals and then attack the parks the next morning rested and ready to go

I agree with above poster about making a split reservation. Losing one day of DDP and tix is not a big deal I'd think especially if you arrive mid-day or later. However, I also don't see a huge difference between dd losing 6 days of school vs. 5 - then again I don't know what grade and if that's a time of year there are tests or quarterly exams.... ?
