So my family is going to be down in WDW this fall. I was talking with one of my sisters and my mom the other day and we decided, even though it will still be a couple weeks early we wanted to surprise my brother and celebrate his birthday. My sisters and my mom all live close so we get together all the time to celebrate birthdays and whatnot, but my brother and his family still live back north and so I honestly cant even recall the last time we all celebrated his birthday. I had seen in the past people mentioning getting Disney to make a special cake and wondered if anyone had done that in the past and how one goes about arranging that. And also if they have any kind of online catalog to see the types they can make.

any help would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

I did for my sisters 50th birthday and my 40th birthday. You order them from private dining of the hotel you are stayng at or dining at. If you look on the restaurant board there is a cake thread and all the numbers are listed. There are also types of cakes where to get them. The best cake by far was from the GF bakery but it was pricey.

I have a couple years ago for eather my 13th or 14th (im 16 now) i had one with a picture of jack sparrow on it

They are price.
They are good but they don't compete with publix

:rotfl: really? I was figuring I would be shelling out lik 80-100 for the cake, but if I can just get a better one at publix... :rolleyes1 :lmao: Nah, embarrassing in the middle of a restaurant will make it all the better. I will have to make sure we keep it quite from both his two gurls and my sisters two boys since none of them can keep a secret. Though I guess that begs the question then if I order it from one bakery can I get them to deliver it to a restaurant of my choice?

No you can only get certain bakeries to deliver to certain places. GF bakery only delivers to GF restaurants. I got the mini castle cake and a 2 tear cake with Tink on top I think it was called an anniversary cake. One was delivered to Narcoosees the other to 1900 park fare. At WL they will deliver to the rooms or WCC or Artist point. You see where I am going with this. You must order it from where you are eating or staying. It is much easier to understand if you go on the cake thread. I saw an incredible Nemo cake that they had delivered to Coral Reef. It was amazing. My mini wedding cake with Tink was about $80 and fed 15 of us with some left over.

i didn't order a cake, but i did order gifts from www.disneyflorist.com

i had two really nice toy/candy/drink baskets waiting for my daughter and her friend in their room...

i custom ordered the baskets (ordered what i wanted in each one)..

i was really pleased with the results (as were the girls)..

and they were so surprised!!!!

by the way, there's a service that will decorate your room for you, but i can't remember the name...
they talked about it in one of the podcasts...
that might be fun to do as well...

We had Disney make two cakes for us - one for DD and one for DS the next day. They were regular 10" round cakes, DD had princesses and a custom happy birthday message. This was at CRT.
The next day we were going to have lunch at Crystal Palace - you know, with Pooh Bear and his friends. When I called their Bakery, they said they couldn't do a Winnie the Pooh Cake because they didn't have the rights to those characters. We did a Cars cake instead, but I thought it was quite odd that Pooh and Tigger can walk around the restaurant, but they can't put their likeness on a cake.
When we called for the ADRs, we asked the CM, and they give you a special phone number for the bakery. The cakes were in the $25 range I think.
