Just wanted to hear from anyone who has had dinner there recently and how it was. Their menu looks appealing but I was just wondering how the food was and the atmosphere for dinner. Thanks~

We ate there after my daughter's wedding in October. We had a steak and it was wonderful! Service was great, we are adding this to must eat at!

Bumping this up because we are wondering the same thing. Did they offer you bread or rolls with dinner? This is a make it or break it with my kids.

:goodvibesI was here three weeks ago for Lunch. I was at MK, then monorailed it over, and then back to MK.

The chef came out as I had some allergies, and made me a fantastic grilled veggie sandwich. :thumbsup2

Everyone was nice working there, very good service and a great relaxing atmosphere.

Whatever your meal is, I think you will enjoy it here. :goodvibes

We had dinner there in Nov there and loved it! Bread was served and it was good. It was one of our best meals of the trip.

My MIL and I had dinner there in November and the food and service were top notch. Also the GF setting is so beautiful and relaxing you just can't go wrong.

Had dinner there two weeks ago. It was just ok.

Food was average and they messed up our drink order so I wont be going back anytime soon.

Dinner a year ago was good, not quite memorable. Lunch this past December was also pretty good. We'll be going back sometime.

Would also like to try another breakfast there.

I like the decor. Think of a coffee shop at a very nice hotel, done up about as formal as a coffee shop can be. I do like it a bit better with the sunshine streaming in during the day.

On my last trip in November we had a first meal of the trip here and enjoyed it. We weren't looking for anything fancy but wanted a nice meal to start our trip. I talked about the Strawberry Salad for most of the next week whenever I got a salad somewhere else.

As for atmosphere, even being right at the entrance of the restaurant behind the front desk it never got loud or busy around our table.

We ate here last June on our trip to WDW. This was one of my favorite meals on that trip. I had the spice dusted tuna and it was delicious! Also shared the dessert sampler with my daughter--also delicious and almost too pretty to eat!

we prefer it for lunch. it's a great lunch, great atmosphere... and i like to shop around the grand floridian during the day. for dinner we feel there are better options.

We ate there on xmas eve and it was very nice. We had steak and it was very good. They have a very nice menu.

We ate here on our last day before we left for lunch. It was a decision to eat here or Kona. We ended up here and since we didn't have an ADR we did have to wait close to a 1/2 hr at around 1:15 on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty busy but not full. We hadn't eaten here in recent years so I thought we'd wait.

My dd who is 12 ordered her regular beef and macaroni and she was quite happy with it. We also ordered the crab cake appetizer which was good, not great...they were slightly spicy with a nice mango sauce which was tangy. I thought the temperature of the cakes could have been hotter and there were a few red pepper flakes that were hard and thought they were pieces of shell at first.

I had a hard time deciding but ended up getting the Cobb Salad. I swapped the blue cheese for feta which is just a preference. Wasn't too thrilled with it. The avocado had some type of dressing on it which I didn't love. I would have been happy with just plain avocado. There was so much going on with the salad there was no need to use an avocado salad. I skipped the bacon as well (as I was baconed out from the trip, bacon everyday at breakfast-not usual for me ;))...there was also tomato on it. The thing I really disliked was the lettuce they used, it was a very "grassy" lettuce which didn't do this salad justice. Mixed greens or romaine would have worked much better. The texture was more like a lawn...:sad2: The chicken was cut up in chunks which was ok. I would not get this again.

I was kind of disappointed as I have heard lots of great reviews about their lunch. The service was good but the food was lacking especially for a "Grand" resort like that. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing or it was an off day. I will be posting my review with photos soon on my dining website. Next time I think we'll check out Kona.;)

I ate there in September 2010 and plan on eating there again. I had a Grand floridian burger (which was HUGE) and the fondue for dessert was great

It's like any average restaurant in any decent hotel lobby honestly. The food is ok and the service ok. It's fine to eat at if you stay at GF but it's not worth travelling to eat here.

I was wondering about the G.F. burger. We'll be going in a few months & I want to make ADRs there, but my husband is a picky eater. He loves hamburgers but when he saw the the description of it on the menu with lobster, etc. well he wasn't thrilled. So it is just a regular hamburger (beef) that they add all that stuff on right?

One of the unheralded gems on Disney property. My wife and I are foodies and we love the GF cafe, the menu is varied service is good and food is awesome. The mussels, tuna and steaks are some of the best at Disney.Desserts are great too.And for what you'd pay at a nationwide chain you get to eat next to the Kingdom on the monorail loop.
