You could do same as we are in August, upgrade to PE for the return leg £705.39, a bit more money but a slightly better service coming home, using Miles knocks about £150pp off the regular fare for that.

Gatwick have economy both ways at £528.30 (M&M)

Indirect not much saving. Best is VA Heathrow into tampa via Newark at £523.93, not much at all from MAN.

There are miles only seats available at only 29,500pp Heathrow to NYC but taxes are £234pp so when you add cost of internal flight to Orlano or Tampa its not worth it IMO.

Don't know how flexible you are or how many miles you have. I would probably do this myself for the saving, but there are 3 of us so would save us quite a lot.
20th Sept ~ 14th Oct Gatwick 35,000 miles pp and £215pp seems a good offer.
Nothing from MAN coming back in Oct.

Jeanette if you look back to last years threads abt sept flight prices it was horrendous! Some were quotin over £900 with va. We went 22nd and looked everyday from march then finally they had a one day sale and we got them for £515 each tht was at 5 in the morning. By abt 12 they were a lot more. Tht was m+m as well. I think when they were released they were quite good but hv gone mad again. Not as high as this time last year though. U know the score just keep checking and gettin more frustrated then finally u will get there. You not taking ur daughter this time?

When I was looking for flights before Xmas the M&M price for 26th Sep. was £482. But decided to go for PE at £800 M&M

If prices have gone up I'm glad I got my flights early.

Booked my flights at the 11 month window and they were £564 a bit more than I wanted but since then have not really seen them below £600 so pleased we booked them now.

Cheapest Charter I see out of MAN for around those dates is 23rd Sept for 14 nights £587 with Monarch.
Not done an extensive search but don't see much cheaper than Virgin.

Managed to book M+M on the 27/11/10 going on the 28/9/11 for 20 days at £444.79 Keep checking everyday as M+M appear at any time and go as quickly.

Even charter flights this year are £600+ its crazy

We have paid miles 19000 + £ 2,897.64 for 4 adults that is going out in economy and back in P.E.. We booked these on 9th January..

i just looked and it's like they have the price fixed - they all come up at exactly the same price from manchester - £606 - doesn't matter who i look at - delta, continental, united, KLM - all exactly the same at £606....

i thought price fixing is illegal

In the end we booked PE for around £800pp.

I guess I must just be lucky but we managed to book a few weeks ago with BA, flying Gatwick to Tampa return for £422 each (4 of us).

Been looking at the prices of the same flights since we booked and the keep going up and down ranging between £460 to £660! PE is over £1000 each!

there is only about 40 seats left on the flights i want, so i doubt now they will go M+M - i should of booked weeks ago when the prices were around £500

You can never win Jeanette, I once booked M&M then full fare price dropped soon after, could have saved money and been about 40,000 miles better off.

Have you looked at BA from Gatwick??
we leave on 19th september and we paid £1800 for 6 of us obv 3 kids in that so avg price will seem better than you can find.
I know travelling down to Gatwick is a ball ache but for us the savings on VA prives were worth it !!

Some people have said they worry about strike action with BA but from my research it doesnt affect Gatwick flights.

Ive not been back into the Ba website to see how much they are at the moment so I apologise if thats a bum steer.
