I have a couple of questions if anyone out there is good with cameras.

Number 1.

I have a DSLR Sony Alpha 200 - LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT - but I need something small to carry about in my pocket from time to time. I had a Panasonic TZ5 - didn't really love it much at all - overpriced for average results IMHO.

Can anyone recommend something small, 7 M pix+, good zoom, compact under £100? as its really just a second camera.

Number 2 (maybe I should call this question 2:rotfl: )

I have a Kodak M863 - the screen no longer shows the photos when trying to shoot realtime and it won't play anything back either. AS there is no viewfinder its basically useless. The screen itself works as the menu options come up - but no photos/realtime!

Anyone got any ideas or know of a good repairer? or just toss it out...

any help with number 2 (no jokes please) would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I usually will only use a Dslr but I wanted a small camera to carry at all times. I bought the Canon Powershot A470, it was £89.99. I love it, very easy to use & good quality pictures. The Nikon S210 Coolpix is also a good camera too:thumbsup2

I think with regards to number 2, give Kodak a call & they will give you an idea of repair.

You own a Sony DLSR and so you are not a brand snob and appreciate a good product at a good price.

Have a look at Samsung digitals. At the moment, there are some great deals at ASDA, TESCO etc

s1070, 10 meg 3x optical zoom for under £70

s760, 7.2 meg 3x zoom for under £50

both at Tesco direct

I actually have a Samsung DSLR the GX20 and I wouldnt swap it for a top of the range Nikon or Canon. I love it to bits

Argos have a store on ebay and there is a samsung on there for around £60ish

So true - I should have been a Yorkshire lass:rotfl:

I really love my Sony DSLR - I can't fault it in any way....actually I can - the camera bag from Sony was £50 and its pretty crappy!

Will have a look at the Cannon Powershot and Samsungs. I like the look of the samsungs - do you have any photos that you took with it you could share?

I don't know if you have already looked for this but on some cameras you can turn the screen off to safe the battery life. Have you had a look in the menu to see if there is an option to turn it off?

I am the same, I want a compact to pop in my pocket and I have been looking at the Canon A470, sorry if this upsets you Nikki but it's half price in Argos at the moment for £49.99. Seems a bargain to me ::yes::

I got mine last year with some Argos vouchers my dad was given fro 25 years service. So it cost me nothing. I would be gutted if I paid for it though as I waited for about 6 months before I bought one.

point 1, if you can make a decent pudding and say 'Eee by gum' I may be able to deputise you ;)

point 2, the Canon at under £50 is a good deal :thumbsup2

and point 3, none that I can upload here as my GX 20 has a 14.6 meg sensor and the image size of a single photo is over 10 megabites.
