I was recently at DW and took a picture with Pocahontas in Rafiki's Planet Watch..

The flash from my camera made a glare, so it's a little hard to see my face as well as hers.. I didn't have time to take the flash off..

I was wondering... Would anyone be will to see if they can try and fix it?? It would be amazing!!!

Please respond to this message, and I will contact you via Private Message..

I hope someone knows pixel magic. I do not have great hopes for any repair that would be acceptable. When you have that bright a light it takes away all the pixels and there is no information to fix or bring back.

I hope I am wrong but wanted you to be prepared? To fix an image you have to have to have info to fix.

I understand where you are coming from.. I don't know a lot about fixing photos, but am hoping someone on here does.. :)

Now, anyone can see it and try to edit it.. If you do, thanks!!! :)

Hmmm, as YesDear mentioned, fixing this photo is going to be very, very hard. You're going to need someone who's much more than just "good at photo editing."

A photo like this, where there is "missing information" (ie. the bright white flash "erased" many details of the photo), you'll need a photo restoration specialist. This would be a professional who is extremely proficient at Photoshop who can recreate some details into that photo. I'm sure you've seen examples of torn, wrinkled antique photos that are "magically" restored to mint condition. That's what a photo restoration professional does.

Another idea would be to create a composite photo, where you'd "transplant" 2 new heads (1 for Pocahontas and 1 for the girl) and maybe rebuild the part of the background area where the flash "blew away" the detail. You probably have similar headshots / poses of the girl. There are probably other photos of this Pocahontas floating around on the Internet. And you can probably find other pictures of the background, too. Combine parts of these 3 into your original photo using Photoshop, and you can come up with a potentially convincing composite photo!

You can maybe darken some of the streaks of light to get some detail back on both faces...but only up to a certain point. The flash in the middle has "blown away" much of the detail in that center area, which would be very very difficult (if not impossible) to recover.

I'm sure there are other ideas out there on fixing this. I don't think I have any easy answers.

Thank you again.. I actually like your idea of "transplant", but being a "not so good photo editor", I probably couldn't do it..

I have worked on the picture for the last week...

I did get rid of the flash glare by using another friends picture with Pocahontas.. Then cloned my body with a different head..

It stills needs a little bit of editing.. The skin tone from my arm and face don't match... So, if anyone wants to volunteer, send me a private message..

I am wanting to know if anyone is interested in seeing it?

next time remember to turn up the ISO setting in the camera and turn off the flash :)
I think the photo you posted is unfixable, as stated the flash point was totally blown out with no information there. Even if this was a RAW picture file I don't think there would be enough information to save it.
As for cloning, yeah you could fix it by doing some careful work, but by the time you are done it is a totally different picture.
I would just leave the picture the way it is and next time you go to Disney you will have a mission to accomplish :)
