Anyone gonna be in DC October 10-11?

We're planning to take a road trip to DC for the March for Equality October 10-11! Anyone else going? We could turn it into a big DIS meet! Or anyone who can recommend a good hotel to stay at?

I live in (near) DC...

If that's Columbus Day weekend I'll be @ WDW. How appropriate. March people need to plan as far out as I do!

What's your budget? I would probably priceline a 4-star hotel in a decent part of the city. That's what I did for NYC this month. Nice hotel, cheap rate!

I'll try to come down too! I think DH will be deployed then so I'll be in need of company. I live about 45 minutes north of the city. I'm trying to think of the good areas of DC but my brain has completely frozen up and I can't remember anything, I'm sorry!

I would say on priceline area 6 (Dupont Circle) is obviously the first pick (gay central), then 7 or 11 (a tie, depending on where you end up in those areas, 11 should be more metro accessible), and then maybe 3. Sticking with 3 or 4 star should steer you clear of issues. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com - they give me some ideas of what I might receive when bidding.

I stayed at the Affinia Dumont in NYC for $89/nt. It had a kitchen...and the whole sq ft was larger than some flats I've been in there, so that was surely a bargain. It is in midtown-east right on 34th so not too bad.

Good luck! I still have to find a room for SF in early Oct. Hoping some fall deals will come out. I got a Kimpton hotel for $81/night in early Sept which is awesome!
