Has anyone gone Fishin at Disney?

Can you bring your own pole?

Can bait be purchased?

Is it catch and release in all the lakes?

Is the fishing any good?

Anyone do the fishing excursion? Sounds expensive.

Hi! Welcome to the DIS!!

Yes, we've gone fishing in the canals/pond in Fort Wilderness. You can also go out on a fishing excursion in the larger lakes.

You can bring your own pole, or rent them from either the Bike Barn in FW, for fishing within the campground - or you get them with your fishing excursion.

Yes, they also have bait to purchase, but when we fish within the campground, we just use cut up a piece of raw bacon! Works great!

Yes, it's always catch & release on any part of Disney property.

Fishing is great! Within the campground, we catch huge crappies and sunnies. Out on the lakes, I think they catch bass as well.

We haven't done the excursions, but I'm sure someone here has and they can answer questions about that!
