Anyone going in May 2008?

I'll have my lime green baggallini! I tried to make a button but no such luck.

I'll just have my LGMH from Home Depot on my purse or bag someplace. I just realized that if I go solo I can take a purse - not a backpack full of kid's things!

DH and I will be there 5/8 - 5/12 for a quick trip....would love to meet any who may be around during that time. Have to make sure I pack limegreen ribbon.....Hope to see a fellow Diser:thumbsup2

There's a guy here on the DIS that makes embroidered caps and t shirts. I'm afraid I forgot his name (Goofy something). Anyway he makes the cutest shirts and caps. He made me a white tshirt with a lime green Mickey head on the left chest area and my real name embroidered just above it. He also made me a cute white cap with a lime green Mickey head on the front and my screen name on the back around the adjustable area (where a ponytail would go through). I'll have to see if I can find his screen name again. They're really nice and he'll do the shirts and caps in any color. Usually though I just have a Home Depot lime green Mickey Head tied on my bag.

edited: OK, I found him. His user name is Bradisgoofy. If you click on his profile, then click on his homepage, he has pictures of some of his stuff. The hat he sent me though, was a really nice one that had the good adjustable fitted back, not the cheaper plastic adjustable one he shows on his site. The t shirt was a nice thick one, not a cheap thin one. Prices were reasonable too. I highly recommend him.

Thanks, I'll check that out! In the meantime, I found a lime green cap at Walmart, and I'm going to iron on a Tink applique (or at least try to) :)

How do I find him?

Use the Search feature and type in bradisgoofy. Threads he posted on should come up. Find his screen name, left click on it and go to bradisgoofy's home page and click on it to see some of his items. If you like them, go back to his screen name, left click again on Send bradisgoofy a private message.

Again he is very reasonable. He does this as just a hobby and only charges for the shirt or cap and postage. I think I paid like $15.00 a piece to get mine here and again the tshirt was a really nice thick one and the cap is better than the one he shows on his site. It had a nice adjustable cloth fitted back, not the plastic adjustable one shown. I got a white t and a white cap with lime green stitching on both, but he will do any colors you want. The machine he uses does a really good job, as you will see when you look at his stuff.

Thanks, that's what I thought--I guess the search feature just wasn't working when I tried it last night :goodvibes

What is the weather typically like during the first week of May? Also, how are the crowd levels?

My in-laws live in FL so I asked them - they said May can be hotter than you think. They said the 1st week is typically mid 80's & humid. They said a few years it can already be 90+ for the 1st week. They said buggy too. :scared1: But then they had the disclaimer that of course there could be a cold spell that it's in the 70's (cold spell hahaha) & rainy too. So it looks like shorts, tees & a hat (I have curly frizzy hair - no sense in fighting with it - best to just cover it up at WDW!)

We were there last year May 4-15. The weather was beautiful. Not terribly hot or rainy and the crowds were low. It's true there were alot of love bugs - but they're not that bothersome. It's really is a lovely time to go.

Until last year we always went late June which is steamy, drippy, and very crowded. That's why this year we're going May 8-26.

I'm thinking about signing up for the Minnie 15k in 2009 and wanted to know what to expect for the weather and crowds. Is it insanely crowded during the first week?:confused3

I just came upon these boards and also just finalized some trip plans. I didn't really know where to start there are so many threads. I am pretty much a Disney Newbie I have only been once and that was 15 years ago and I've forgot most of it, lol. I will be solo for two days (May 5,6 2008) and a couple nights while my wife attends a conference. I am always interested in metting new people. At this point I am leaning towards spending my solo days in Epcot just leisurely checking out the flower festival, world showcase, and what not. It seems that there are at times pre-planned meetings of solo people on this forum. Anyone that might be interested in meeting up or know of anyone thing specific going on those days let me know. Again I am a Disney newbie so I not really making specific plans just going to have a couple of slow days.

My DH and I will be there from 4/30 - 5/9 and would love to socialize with other Disers. Is there going to be a meet? Could someone give me the information? Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you all.:goodvibes

Read farther back into this post. We are all meeting May 6th at 7:45pm at the Japan Pavillon for drinks then fireworks afterwards. Hope you can make it. I believe Pooh will add your cell phone to the list.

We are having a Dismeet on Tuesday, May 6th. We're meeting at the Japan Gate at 7:45. I'm compiling a list so PM me with your cell so I can add you to our list of Diser's!

I will miss the meet, my dinner is at 7:50pm. Where are you all planning on watching Illuminations from? Maybe I can try & meet you all there!

I don't think there's a spot yet. I won't be staying for fireworks, but anyone have suggestions where it could be watched from?

I'll be staying for fireworks. My offsite hotel shuttle doesn't come until 10:30pm so I've got so time to kill after Illuminations. I know the park will be closed after that, but by what time will they actually kick me out of Future World - I figured I'd just make a slow trek back to the front gate after Illuminations, people watching along the way & taking in the sights. Sights of what I don't know, but I'd rather exit the park slowly than sit outside waiting for the bus for an hour!

Tink - you're at R&C at 7:50 correct? There's only Morocco & France between you & us meeting in Japan, I'm sure we can all agree on a spot to look for you. Not sure anyone can hear their cell with Illuminations going on. Honestly, I've never walked into Japan! No kids this time so I plan on taking my time in every country in World Showcase.

Hi -

DH, DS-20, his DGF-19 and I have reserved an Illuminations cruise on May 15th and a Wishes cruise on May 22nd :boat: . We're very excited because last year's Illuminations cruise was just amazing - we felt like we were part of the fireworks. We can't wait to do it again.

Like last year, several DISers will be joining us on these cruises. But we still have a few spots available:

Illuminations - May 15: 1 adult

Wishes - May 22: 4 adults

If anyone is interested in joining some fellow DISers, PM me.

Hope everyone has a magical vacation. pixiedust:
