Anyone go in December and NOT do MVMCP?

Last December I took my first trip as an adult with my own family. We bought MVMCP tix on a whim with some gift cards and just LOVED it! It was a magical time, perfect weather, low crowds, everything was so wonderful. (In addition to that trip, we also did a quick 2-day MK only in Feb).

Now I am planning our trip for the first week of Dec 2015 and am really struggling with whether to do MVMCP again. DD is 3 now so having to purchase 3 tickets pushes the cost up there. I'm thinking of getting park hoppers this trip so we definitely would have plenty to do and fill our time. The only thing I really hate to miss is the Christmas parade... Best parade ever!

Had anyone gone in Dec and been super disappointed that you didn't do MVMCP?

Been in December 3 times. Did the party twice. Our last trip in December we did not and did not miss it.

Its a big extra expense for us, it IS my favorite party, but I would rather save that money for something else, like the CP Package, other TS restaurants, or souvenirs...

I'm not even sure my fav show is still there! (Mickey's twas the night before Christmas)

We've done it both ways, and while I'm glad we went a couple of times, I didn't really miss it the times we skipped it.

I have been 3 times, the last time in 2011. Too crowded and too expensive......

We LOVE it. My (now) 4 yo had the greatest times ever there. We're going to every stinking one we can this trip.

We always go during December but have never gone to the Christmas party

We always plan/want to go, but then think about how much extra it is per person and opt not to. We might make it there this December. When we don't go we just leave MK earlier in the day before it gets too crowded and hop to another park

Although my Saints are playing in Tampa in December, so mickeys Christmas money might be going there ;)

We did the party for both of our trips that it was offered. However, there is so much fun to be had in other areas I know I could skip it and not be disappointed. If it is not in your budget don't sweat it. Your 3 year old may not make it through the whole night anyway.

With a 3 year old I'd probably wait and do it when she's older and can appreciate it more (and stay up later?). There will be so much other Christmas fun that I don't think missing the party will make much of a difference.

We went twice last December and loved it, but would not spend the money again to repeat. There just is not enough "extra" to justify the cost for our family of 5

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I'm thinking the $$ would be better spent on a park hopper for this trip. Our MVMCP experience was so awesome last year I have a feeling there is no way we could repeat that!

We have done MVMCP for the past three years.....but we will NOT be going this year. Disney finally raised the price to above my threshold.....last year I hemmed and hawed about it until just a couple days before the party and caved in....a lot of it because they offered a military discount. This year I have not seen any military discounts offered, they've raised the price again, but so far haven't posted anything new/better/worth the raised price......so I think we are going to spend an evening driving to a few of the hotels and enjoying the decorations at each......and we'll be doing Candlelight Processional at least twice this year......plus all the other EPCOT holiday stuff, so I think we're good for the holidays.

We have gone many times in December and have never done the party. We always have a great time.
