AHHHHH!! I don't know what to do! LOL I have Song booked for my outbound flight in April at a great rate. I have been waiting for JB or SW to open their flights for my return as Song is VERY expensive! Well, we all know that it will be some time before SW opens their fares for April  but if I am willing to come home one day early (we were planning on a 2 week vacation so that is no big deal!) we can save $250 on JB....come home on the 21st in the evening versus anytime on the 22nd!

Problem is that dh is sleeping so I can not ask him if he cares about coming home a day early...we have the condo booked up to the 22nd.If I book the flights for the 21st now I can change the flights within 24 hours with no penalty(meaning I can still book the higher rate on the 22nd if I want to without paying $25 pp fee)

So do I take the risk and buy JB now at the fairly decent price or wait and hope that SW will be a bette rate? Also, have to figure in that my outbound flight is out of Boston....JB flies into Boston but SW does not!

I am probably not making any sense right now! :rotfl: I am rambling trying to answer my own questions while I type but I need some back up!! :teeth:

Short version to my PM--book the flight home a day early, and if DH minds, rebook at the higher rate, and you're none the worse. :)

We flew SW last year during our spring break, which was the third week of April. I had posted a question on another message board asking when SW would open their dates up. Someone replied who must have been a SW employee. He gave me the date, and approximate time SW was going to open up their dates. I must have been the first person to book, I was hitting the refresh button all morning. We were able to get $312 per person. Hartford to Orlando. I thought I was going to do better than that, but the price never came down.

WOW! If you were one of the first to book and got $312 then I am glad I bit the bullet and booked my JB flights last night! We are paying about $250 r/t which I thought was quite good during break time! We were able to change the condo to a fri-fri booking so that is great. I am cutting my WDW stay 1 night but I'm sure I'll be back there soon so I am not even upset! :teeth:

I am actually relieved that I do not have to check SW every day/3 times a day for the next 8 months of my life! :rotfl:

Harass away...I owe you for the tip on JB being open!! Also, for the nudge in getting me to go with the earlier date!! LOL DH told me that I could do whatever I wanted and not tell him a thing and he would never know the difference! LOL He leaves the plannig to me..... :scratchin hmmmm I wonder why? :teeth: He would have been upset I'm sure, if I had lost a night at the beach....he would much rather loose the night in WDW than on a relaxing beach!! :earseek: Can you imagine??? :confused3

Anyway, it all worked out great and in the end we will be saving quite a bit of money! 1 less car rental day, 1 less night in WDW and $250 saved on air!! :cheer2: Glad we have an eztra long vacation...this is why I am not blinking and eye about coming home 1 day early!!

I thought I could do better than the $312 with SW, but we were only willing to fly out of Hartford (not NY-which would have given us a lot more choices ), and there are only 2 airlines that fly non-stop to Orlando. Delta was the other one, and for about 7 months before we left for Disney, their price was $500 per person! Needless to say, when I got the $312, I was pretty happy.

I actually think that $312 is not BAD for Easter week but thought that since you were right on it you would have got a little less...airlines are not dumb! They know when New Englander's are going to travel and they are going to get as much as they can! :teeth: After the winter most of us are willing to pay just about anything to get out of here! Now, $500 is alot! Song is at about $600 right now!! JB just s little less that that! I amde out because we are actually going for 2 weeks so when Song released my departure date I jumped on the $69 fare.....same flight is now $200!

I'm just glad I am done worrying about it!

Its hard to believe Delta can sell those flights at $500-$600 round trip! We are considering trying Disneyland this year (havent been in 17 years), and I can get a November flight on Song cheaper to California versus Orlando!
BTW, my sister lives right near you, in Sterling, Mass!

That is just crazy! Flying across the states versus just a few states away!! Like I said...the airlines are not dumb!!

Sterling is a beautiful town...we take rides up/through there often. It's only about 20 minutes (if that!) from me! Tell my neighbor I say hi! :teeth:

I actually paid $214.00 R/T with taxes just this past spring break. Flew from Nevada to Orlando on SWA. I only had 3 weeks to plan the trip and was able to get in on one of their internet specials. This was 3 days after Easter that we went.

I just checked air fare for a possible Feb break trip for us, and Delta wants $299 one way out of Hartford! Guess we arent going to Disney in February!
My sister & her husband both graduated from WPI, and my son's first choice so far for college is Holy Cross...as a matter of fact, we may be going to Worcester this weekend to our favorite seafood restaurant...The Sole Propietor (sp?)
