Anyone get one of the personal birthday cakes? How are they? Which places have them?

On the Disneyland website, it says that "Full Service" restaurants have a princess jewelery box or pirate treasure chest that each come with a personal cake and a surprise, for $15 plus tax. has anyone ordered one of these? Anyone have a picture? What exactly do you get? Also, which are considered "Full Service restaurants"? Do we just order it with our meal or would we need to pre-order it? Thanks!!!!

All Disney operated restaraunts that take reservation and have table service offer this. So all the places that qualify with the above are in the parks and hotels.

Thanks! So would basically just be Plaza Inn, Blue Bayou, and Carnation inside the park? Those are really cute cakes! I'm guessing the $15 one is the smaller one pictured? It actually looks much bigger in the picture than what I was thinking you would get for $15, especially since it comes with a small gift, too?

I've seen pictures of the $15 "personal" cakes in a box...they look much smaller, kind of like a decent-sized piece of sheet cake.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2217198 is from the WDW side but I think DL's cakes are the same or very similar.

I don't think you have to order those personal cakes in advance...the cakes like the ones I think were linked to, would have to be ordered in advance but I don't know how much.

You can get them the same day. The cake really isn't that good. You can always order a cake made and delivered to a sit down restaurant.

The personal cakes for $15 are a small individual serving of mediocre cake. The ones pictured below start at least $25-30 for the smallest one (the one pictured with Pluto, and Pluto costs extra).

We got the princess jewelery box when we were there a couple of weeks ago. It came with the flag and a little play mirror and was $15. It is deceiving though because the cake isn't as large as the box - it's not as tall as the box. So basicly a large single serving of plain white cake.

Yes, the statues or chocolate characters are about $5 each. The cake with Pluto was $27, and the two 10" cakes were I believe $35 (maybe $38.)

And the cake is DELICIOUS!

This was a chocolate cake, with a chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting.

the custom cakes are soooo good! I had a cake made here in Vegas for $75.00 and ordered the same flavors at Storytellers cafe and it was $35.00 and was better!
